  1. It is more stunning in person! Danny is with DFC Studios and a new daddy, which is probably why it took so long, but there is no excuse!
  2. Get your hands on the Tandy lacing book. I learned from that book and actually carry the pages for that lace with me in my lacing bag. Good luck
  3. I just got my Woodcrafter catalog and they have both Arkansas Stones and Japanese water stone sets at a decent price. I believe the Arkansas set is $49 for the smaller stones and $79 for the larger ones that 8thSinner mentioned. They will be in their own wooden box. You will use oil with these stone. The set come in everything to you need to get your edge on. The Japanese water stones, which I use, are also available, but I believe they are like $129 & $159?? I would have to take a look to make sure. They also have some interesting rouges that they recommend for wood carvers and lathe operators. I might try the combined green rouge though it is a bit up there at $22.95 for a block. I like these stones because they use water to prevent the pores from clogging up. Note: there is a difference in the grit formulation for the American, Japanese and China stones. To me they do not take a lot of force and I am happy with my edges. But I am sure I can make them better for sure. After reading several of Hidepounder's thread, I am sure that I do not have it as sharp as I could, but it is something that needs to be taught to me. If anyone is up to a tutorial, that would so cool! Good luck!
  4. I initiated a post where I posted his latest tools for sale but email or call will work....be advised that there may be a delay in the response as they run another business as well.

  7. I use a 14oz custom maul by Bearman for my all around stamping. I use my 2lb maul for Basket or geometric stamping and my 3lb for my large maker stamp placement.

  11. All leather worker administrators, ambassadors, moderators and contributors have been awesome! I appreciate all of the hard work that you all have sacrificed to keep this craft's knowledge base alive! I have been thinking how I can help even though I do this as a hobby, and do not directly make money. I do appreciate the time I spend on here. So my idea is to have a garage sale where all of the proceeds minus shipping and handling will benefit LW as my donation. I am getting ready to put all of my beginner books, doodle pages, LCSJ magazines, craftaids and some tools that started me off up for sale. I have noticed a lot of new threads where toolers and leather crafters that have asked for and looked for beginning stuff. Well, here will be your chance to purchase these items at a reduced cost and support LW. Please look for my upcoming list of items for sale. I am rearranging my workspace ( usually when the spouse says that the masterbedroom does not look like a room anymore. In that, I am pulling my beginning stuff and start listing it here. Again, the purchase price will be donated to LW and the rest of the cost will be to get it to the new owner. I hope this works out well for all (including making my wife happy). It will be my way of paying back for all of the knowledge that I have received from this site alone! Thank you, thank you and best of luck to LW and its administrators! SAM
