That turned out sweet! I really like the insides of the "purse." The artisitic value of your cover design is really, really cool! -
Hello all and good evening. I've got another member who is looking to sell his Tippman Boss stitcher. The machine comes in a like new condition with many extras like a table, adjustable bobbin, needles, etc. Our member is asking $1,000 or best offer. Shipping will be from Taylor Texas and will have to paid by the new owner to their destination. If anyone is 'seriously' interested, you can email me and I will be more than willing to faciliate the exchange. This member also has some extra tools coming up for sale as soon as I can get out to his shop and take some photographs. Most of the tools are punches, knifes, some crafttools Co & USA and other items. I will post them as soon as I can get some time to capture the photos. Enjoy!

It is a really nice job you have there! I do have a question that peaked my interest. Do you glue your work to your granite block? Also, what size (ounce) of leather are you using? I've got a friend that wants me to make one, but I have no experience with these "pick guards." Thanks.

Boy the have alittle of everything! I appreciate the resource. I guess I going to have to open up the chair after I repair it and take some measurements and compare them to these photographs. Thanks a million!

I was able to get a hold of a director chair frame from my local Craigslist for Free! I has no material, just frame and it needs some re-gluing done...not a problem. The problem is I have never own one of these chairs, so I don't really know where to start. Was wondering if anyone has done a Director's type chair and maybe could give me some advice, pitfalls to avoid, maybe dimensions? If anyone has a cool looking design (general layout) that worked out for them that would be helpful. I am think about a nice Texas flag on the back support? I was also thinking about maybe doing a Texas style theme to represent the entire state? What do you all think? Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks.

I am set up in a small sitting area located in our master bedroom. It occasionally gets dusty, but I just have to get the kids to vacuum. The drill press is located in my garage. I don't have a sewing machine, but if I did, I would probably find a way to fit it in. I do have a corded drill that I clamp on the bench for my sanding. It is not too bad, I usually vacuum right after. As for the fumes, it just depends. I do have some emergency cans of Tandy Contact Cement, but the wife knows to exit the room immediately when deployed. I did find some green label contact cement at Lowes on clearance in a one gallon. According to their label it can be used for leather and materials, but mostly used on counter tops. What I like about it is that it does not smell at all. I just glue both sides, it dries and CAREFULLY put them together. I haven't had one project split yet. Good luck

Very nice. I've got a set on the bench that I have been working on for some time. I took Bobby idea and decided to try my hand at a lamp. I took a design from a french museum piece that a friend shared with me. We'll see...... Good job!

Dave: Welcome to the forum! Glad to hear that another French countryman has joined us. A good friend of mine who uses the name "Pino" on here lives in Cannes. He also has a hard time finding leather and has to order from the UK. If you have any contact informaiton for this supplier; I am sure he would be very happy. As for the leather, I would like to see pictures of your work on this type of leather since I do not have any experience with such leather. I would like to know from the tannery what their process is (good luck) and why they call it by that name (probably will be easier). Pino tells me that he cannot even get such suppliers and/or craftsman to talk with him about suppliers in the area. This should help him out very much! Good luck and thanks for posting! Remember, pictures!

Looks good TT. Nice clean design!

Those tools pretty much hold their value....you are probably better off getting them directly from the makers....I would stay off eBay unless you know their value.....cuz you could end up paying more than they are worth~ Good luck!

Check out the leatherman on here..I have one of his burnishers...works very well....workmanship is top notch!

You could think about tooling the outer edge and maybe laser engrave the names and wedding date in the center. I have some coasters that I have made up that have maker's stamp in the center decorated with some tooling pattern on the outer ring area.

Welcome to the forum! There so many videos to purchase depending on the work you like to learn. I believe chuck burrows makes a how to for knife sheaths, hidecrafters carries a good selection of videos and eBay carries some probably in vhs format...but you can find them in dvd occasionally. Either way, let us know how we can help you along.
