Nice work on your belts.
I agree... very nice work!
I know next to nothing about carving/tooling but the construction and overall look of the belts seems to be high quality. Thanks for sharing!

Try ritescrew.com for your screws. Only $5 minimum and they will ship vis USPS priority. They also sent samples of some screws I had asked about.
Can you check that link.... I'm not finding a website by that name.
Did you mean thread-rite.com ?

Hello, I am not a leatherworker. I signed up on here just to find if anyone could make me a Leather football basketball hybrid. I have sketches of what i want if you think your up for the job. Just give me a price you would need for the job and what your ideas are. Either reply on here or send me an email directly at OnTheDaly@gmail.com
Thanks!
TJ
google lemonball and look for the etsy results
Maybe he/she can make what you want.

I like it.
Been wanting to make one for myself... as soon as I get a nice camp axe. What weight was leather you used?

Keep an eye on craigslist. Sometimes you can find a cheap machine just for the table.
I ordered a table top from atlaslevy ... cheapest i could find with shipping. They also have legs and just about everything else you might need.

I am looking for a supplier for Blau Ring Lemonwood Shoe Pegs. Having a hard time finding them. Does anyone know of the company address in Germany, or a reliable supplier here.
Thanks,
Art
I got some here a few years back....

I've used olive oil with Vinegaroon. I dunno if that'd be a no-no though. I'm still too new to know.
God Bless, Ray
A commonly used combo.

I did a search of this section to see if I could find any information about lasts but since the search returned 0 results I thought I would make a post to see if anyone might be able to help me out.
Since getting involved in leatherworking I've become more and more interested in making shoes and boots. The thing that eludes me is finding information on making lasts. Why would I want to make lasts? I guess it has to do with my DIY nature. I like the idea of being able to make the things I need to do different jobs. I've been considering ordering a copy of the book American Last Making from shoetrades.com, but at $68 for a copy I'm a bit afraid of ordering yet another book on shoe making and it not being what I need. Does anyone have any knowledge of this book or last making in general? It seems to be an area of shoe making that has either been completely abandoned in the circle of available information, or it's something that's so closely guarded that those of us who want to do it as part of our hobbies will never be able to learn it. As I said I've considered ordering American Last Making, but at that price I just hate to risk the cash if the book isn't really going to tell you how to layout and make a last.
Chris
You can find quite a bit of info on the HCC website.... that is if you can figure your way around the completely archaic software it runs on.

Thanks a ton!
My photo setup is fairly basic. I took these photos on the island in my kitchen actually! The leather underneath is the flesh side of an oil tanned hide draped over a tall box to get a nice seamless backdrop.I get some nice natural light from the garden window on the right and I turn on some lights to the left.
Gear:
Nikon D70s
Nikon SB-600 Speedlight
Tripod
Photoshop CS3
I shot these at F/4.5 so I get a nice shallow depth of field and the Speedlight pointed at the ceiling for a good bounce fill. I use the timer on the camera so I can stand to the left with a bounceboard to pop a little light into the left side. I usually like to shoot outside but in a pinch I think my kitchen setup works good too.
Thanks. Exactly the info what I was looking for.

Have a request for a few laptop bags and customer wants English Bridle Leather, this will be my first time buying this and hoping to get some feedback on who has some nice stuff.
Siegel is the only one I know of in the states who carries genuine 'english' bridle.

I think that next time I'll go buy some 0000 steel wool. I'm thinking the finer wool will make the process a lot quicker.
Absolutely. I'm currently making a new batch of v'groon using course steel wool and it is going so much slower than the times I've used finer wool.

The Saddle Tool Dude's link doesn't work anymore. Do any of you know if he has a new leather tool website? What he had was a really nice start to a leather tool history database.
web archive is your friend = http://web.archive.org/web/20080524174315/http://home.att.net/~saddle_tool_dude/

I have a tandy store less than 2 miles from my house. I rarely shop there as I find just about everything they have to be of inferior quality to products availble elsewhere... at the same cost.

Hey Guys,
Anyone know where i can get hardware for dog collars.
Thanks in advance.
Click on one of the advertisers banners at the top like zack white or springfield.... or there is always tandy.
