  1. Well, I was hoping there was a generic one... A popular one will do, I just figure if I am gonna be practicing I might as well make something in the process... A Softail 00-07 FLAT would work.. A fender bib pattern or dimensions would work just as well...
  2. Does anyone have a pattern for a tank bib/panel or the dimension? Thanks, Brad
  3. Dude that is awesome!! I may have to try making one of those, great idea!!
  4. That totally sucks! It must have looked good though, the rest of your stuff does!! I was just thinking about that issue the other day and ways to combat theft... Has anyone ever sewn cable into their straps and a way to lock the straps with a padlock? Just a thought....
  5. Not sure if this is the correct place for this, but it is a cool video! They make it look so freakin easy!!
  6. Did this ever get done? I would love to see the finished pictures!!
  7. Thanks! Unfortunately no, I did not back it with anything, I will next time!!!
  8. Well beside the leather warping and a few other little things that I learned I don't think it turned out to bad. It is nothing fancy but I am going to make everything black except the background area which I will leave natural, I may make the cross red. I will be redoing it, without the warping this time, I hope! Suggestions and critique always welcome!
  9. Thanks Marlon and Luke!! I will give that a try, I take it this is not an uncommon occurrence with the thinner leathers?
  10. This is a cool book! http://www.archive.org/stream/decorationofleat00rcrich
  11. Hey Luke, here is a picture. What do you use for glue?
  12. Hey Rolf! Here is a whole thread on the subject: http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?s...7&hl=dremel Also just a couple of days ago someone posted a picture of a tool they made to use with there dremel for burnishing. Hope that helps! Regards, Brad
  13. Those look great! I was wondering what size was popular.
  14. Now that I have your attention, lol. So this probably an easy question to answer and I will probably answer it myself, but I want some confirmation... So.... I was tooling a piece of leather last night (Tandy Biker Wallet to be exact) and I got it all done and noticed that the piece of leather is all distorted and now the leather is out of shape on one side and the lacing holes do not line up.. The design I was trying to do came out awesome, just warped. Did I have the leather to wet or did I just beat it to death or was it a combination of drowning and beating that killed it, I mean warped it.... Any help would be great!! luckily I made a pattern of the pieces before I started, so I can recreate the ruined piece. Thanks in advance! Brad

Holy Smokes, that is amazing! How long have you been working with leather and how long did it take to complete this piece?
  17. That is awesome! Black is my favorite color but I would have to say black would not do this justice. Will this auction be available on the internet?? Where does everyone get there seat pans?
  18. Thanks for the nice comments everyone, if anyone has any suggestions I would welcome them!!

    Marble Slabs

I lucked out this last weekend, I was going by a custom granite shop and stopped by to see how much they would charge for a slab (my wife wants to get started in tooling). The manager asked what size I needed and I told him, he said follow me and took me to the back loading dock area. Pointed to a pallet full of remnants and said take what ever you want! I wound up walking away with 2 slabs that are 20.5" long X 13" Wide X 1/5" thick, they are granite but should work just fine. He said that during the week the pallet is over flowing with pieces and to stop back by if I needed more... I wonder how long it would take to accumulate enough remnants to do my bathroom floor, all in different shapes etc.... Figured I would mention it just in case someone needed some slabs. Brad
  20. Thanks Everyone! Sodapop, I moved to Texas when I was in the army and didnt realize how much I would miss the mountains, don't think I will ever leave the NW again... Unless it is to move to the Bahama's or somewhere tropical.. :-P
  21. That looks awesome, I agree the pear shading really makes it stand out!!
  22. You are right it does, I didn't even notice that, that was a total accident! It was some scrap pieces I picked up when I was at Tandy, it was already stained..
  23. Well I have been lurking, ready and learning for about a couple of weeks and decided I better introduce myself. Here is my very first finished piece, I got a head knife yesterday and it needed a sheath!! There are all sorts of things I see wrong with it but you got to start somewhere!! I do know a stitching pony is next on my list to either buy or make!! I will be posting more as I get them done! Regards, Brad
