Great work as always Roger!!! What kind of paint did you use on the black one and how do you keep the paint from cracking if the leather is bent allot, which appears might happen on a flap?

First wallet
BradB replied to roadking07's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
That stitching looks great for a first piece!!! The tooling looks good also, I agree with Grumpy that the tooling may flatten out were the wallet bends. All and all that is a great first project, use it with pride! -
That turned out awesome Frog, I think this is probably your best piece to date (well that I have seen)!! Congrats Man that ROCKS!!! A piece that looks that good better be going on a guitar and to a player worthy of such fine craftsmanship!!!

There was a conversation not to long ago about this in the Suppliers section I think it was and someone suggested: www.timcocorporation.com and http://www.hidehousesouth.com/ I have yet to deal with either company though, but the person who suggested them said they were good.

Shirley, I don't think you are wrong one bit!! If you did cut him a break on the price he would run off to "all of his buddies" and tell them that you gave him a break and they would then all want it and they would tell people and so and so.... Stick to your price, matter of fact you should bump up the price for him because he has wasted your time haggling about a known price and made you wonder if you are wrong and had you worrying about it!!! With that said I would also like to say not all Veterans are like that, I am a veteran and I don't want anything from anyone, except maybe a thank you for defending our country if someone feels like saying it! Like Troy and every other veteran that I know, I did it for the love of my country and freedom. So please do not think all veteran's feel that something is owed them. Brad

water drop effect
BradB replied to carr52's topic in Dyes, Antiques, Stains, Glues, Waxes, Finishes and Conditioners.
I didnt watch the video but the way I do it is to actually use water drops and then spray your paint over them and let it dry. I learned that from Mike Levelle from killerpaint I think it was on an episode of overhauling. -
That is awesome, you must be really excited and happy. Congrats Man!!! Do you have a website with other work we could see?
-
Do any of you use a push beveler? if so who made it?
