That looks like felt or steel wool, either way that shouldn't be to hard to make...

So I had one of the cheap large mallets from Tandy and just replaced it with a 2 lb ASB Polyhead Maul, WOW what a difference that makes!! It was well worth the investment!!!

How do you guys dye, finish and waterproof/seal your saddlebags? What products do you use and what are the steps you do it in?

I have heard mention of this here on the forum, is it all over or just in certain states? I have some Eco-Flo dye, but from what I am reading here I am not sure I want to use it if it is not water proof... or am I totally confused? What does everyone use for say Belts, Wallets, purses and things that people will use all the time?

I used one of those wool applicators you can get a Tandy..

So I was dying the biker wallet kit I tooled and I wanted to leave part of the tooling natural, which I did but when I started dying the backside of it black it started to bleed through. I figure it was because the leather was thin and I maybe I tooled it to much?? Has anyone ever had this problem and how do you work around this issue? Brad

Maybe spray some adhesive to bag stiffener to the inside of the cover cut to the shape you want and then cover that with something soft...
