Hi everybody, I have a class coming up fairly close to me at Tandy in Birmingham, Al August 17th. I will be presenting my Beginners "Getting Started the Right Way" workshop. We will cover all the processes to take your project from start to finish! Including the best way to Stop stretch, What is "Casing" & moisture control, proper tool usage, burnishing edges & even Stitching! Its a one day class so we will cover lots of information & Tips that you can use on all your Future projects. Here is the last project before Christmas. It has an Antler body thats just over 1/2" in dia. It's adjustable from about 2 1/2" up to about 3 1/4". Which would fit most everybody. I dont know if I'll be making many of these as finding a section of antler that is fairly close to the right diameter,,, thats not too crooked,,, & has some good makings,,, gets kind of difficult. If I do make more, they will be in the $100.00 range. As far as blades,,, I like the blades from Bob Beard & Henley. Thanks for looking,, Ed

Thanks Everybody,,, I hope you all have a Great Christmas!! The class is in Prescott Az on Sat Feb 28th. This class if for beginners on up. You will explore not only the coloring techniques, but also the equipment and materials used. You will do some dye mixing and learn theory behind creating interesting colors and designs. Blending, shading, & fading techniques will be discussed and applied. I will supply you with patterns ahead of time so that you can tool them before the workshop, and spend your class time coloring.

Thanks lonesome dove,,, We're glad you like them so much! tomt ,,, I'm Ed the"BearMan",,, I'm the originator behind the BearMauls,,, & lots of other tools. Ed Stiles (Bearys long time friend) and Beary have been making the BearMauls & leatherburnishers for quite some time now. The business has grown to the point to where Ed quit his full time job to make the tools Full time now. So the wait times will be coming down,, & the communications will be a lot better. Being the perfectionist that they are,,, Ed & Beary take thier time to make sure every tool is as perfect as it can be. I am still involved with some of the more Custom tools,,, or to help with design ideas sometimes. So, if there have been any communication concerns in the past,,, there wont be any problems now. I may be teaching a class on coloring there. So far I've just been contacted about doing the class,,, & nothing is set yet,,, But it sounds like fun.
