Hi Everybody, Here are a few things we have ready to go. No waiting,,, Beary has been working hard to have enough stock on hand to be able to fill orders faster. Beary introduced his new Burnishers made especially for cordless hand drills. Beary also has a couple "Premier" complete sets, made with some very special highly figured Cocobolo. Of course he has all the individual Dremel Style & Drill Press Burnishers on hand as well. I have a few BearMauls ready to go, including a Custom Pair with Stand. I have several "Stinger" Awl Handles, in several different woods. The "Stingers" fit in the palm of your hand & feels like a natural extention. The "Stinger" handle design works very nice as a "Fid" handle as well. Here are a few pictures,,,, Thanks for looking!! If you see some LeatherBurnishers you need,,, Contact Beary at: LeatherBurnishers@yahoo.com For anything else,,, Please contact us at: polarb1717@aol.com Thanks,,,, Beary & Ed the"BearMan"

Hi CustomDoug, Beary & I have been looking into a burnisher that would mount on a variable speed bench grinder. What we've found is that some bench grinders even in the same maker have some very weird size threaded shafts. Some are 1/2"-20,,, which is good,,, but a lot of them come with a 1/2" ACME thread,,, some have a 12mm shaft. So fitting them with a burnisher that doesn't wobble, is very problematic. The problem with the arbor shaft extensions is that with the set screws pushing against the shaft pushes the arbor off center. We have made a few that fit SOME variable bench grinders,,, but there doesn't seen to be any good rhime or reason to which shaft size & thread will come on your grinder. Once we get back from the show, I'm going to do some reasearch into a grinder company that consistantly uses a usable shaft size. BUT,,, on another good note,,, Beary is introducing a new Burnisher at the show, designed to fit & work very nicely in your cordless & variable speed hand drill! He will have those ready to roll out in about 2 weeks,,, maybe less.

Hi Mark, I use Angelus dye for almost everything. The dye is more concentrated. Plus they have some stock colors that others dont make. Some of my dilutions are as low as 95% denatured alcohol to 5% dye. I've been getting mine from: http://www.dharmatrading.com/products/ald3.html They are in California,,, so that will help you. Ed

Hi Trox, Yes we can do that for you. My son Beary is actually the one making the burnishers. His email is: leatherburnishers@yahoo.com Do you know how long it needs to be? Just measure the distance between the washers. Also, which grooves do you need in it? Just contact Beary at his email, & I'm sure he can make something for you.

Thanks Art, About a year ago I decided to "test" the head material to see if I could damage it. So I mounted a 1/4" bolt in the vice & then mounted a section of the head stock on a axe handle, about 18" long. With a mighty sledge hammer swing I swung & missed the first time. With better aim, I made very good solid contact, to my surprise, all I had was the outline of the bolt end,,, but no real dent or divot. So, on the next swing I purposely hit it with a heavy glancing blow. All I can say is it didn't bounce off like I thought it would, it basically grabbed & bent the bolt,, still just leaving a small mark. So,,, yes it's a very tough material, & I've never seen or heard of anybody having flakes. Take Care,,, Ed

Thanks Everybody,,, I try,, Sometimes you have to really work work work to get a project done,,, this one was the other way. Once I started on it, it only took about 2 1/2 days,,, maybe 14 hours total. Thanks for all the wonderful comments! Ed -
Hi Everybody, Here is a wallet I made for my wife's birthday. I finished it about a week ago, but waited to post it so that she wouldn't see it. It's a bit different from what I've been doing lately. This is the first thing I've laced in about 20 years. I'm surprised I remembered how to do it,,, hehehe All the colors are done with Angelus Spirit dyes. Each color is done using 2,3 or even 4 different dilutions. Thanks for looking,,, Ed the"BearMan"

Hi Everybody, I've been watching this post to see if I was the only one that Brushes the leather. I was taught many years ago, to brush the leather after the dye has dried. I was told that it helps to clean up the surface & give it a nice glow. It seems to help close up the pores also, as after brushing, the dye doesn't take as well. What I use to brush with is a white bristle shoe shine brush. It's just a small step,,, but well worth it. Ed the"BearMan"

Hi Everybody, Here's a Bear Paw stamp I got a while back. I think it was from the Guy in the Chek (sp) Republic. It seems to be pretty well made. Look at the right edge. Ed
