  2. If your a southpaw then that's the best one to start off with unless your going to use a round knife or a skiving knife, in my opinion. Damon
  3. I have the pack and I will tell you, it's one of the more sought after and expensive packs you can get, I think that I paid almost $45 for mine. If memory serves it has something like 20-25 patterns. I would say if your in the SCA or LARP or similar get it.

  15. The forums got revamped a few months back and I think that some of the pictures were lost or simply haven't made their way back on yet. Damon

  17. Thanks for the offer. Kids don't bother me, I have 3 and the youngest turned 8 on Friday. Let me take a rain check on that, depends on if I get stir crazy. It looks like that the Mobud Tandy location is the closest to me so in a couple of days after I really settle in I might swing by there after work to check them out
  18. Work has sent me down to SA for the next 4 weeks (maybe more) and I was wondering if any groups gathers at one of the Tandy stores here? I'd like to meet a few of you and maybe pound some leather and learn something for ya'll, I did bring my tools with me. The hotel I'm staying at is on the north side of town but I could be talked into traveling a little bit on a weekends. What do you all think? Damon
  19. Hi there, I haven't seen an anhk or penticle stamp in ages (as in 10+ years). I would try ebay or find a leather crafter at a renfair or something of the like. Damon
  20. My employer is sending me to Shreveport, LA for a minimum of 6 months and the nearest Tandy store is New Orleans. Does anyone know if there's any other good leather store in the northern LA area? Damon
  21. I'm using the oil based dye and no I forgot to put some leather sheen on it. I have a new piece cut out and I'll try to make it again. Thanks for the help. Damon
  22. I tried to rework a belt for my father in law for x-mas. I cut it out, dyed & buffed it out to a nice shine but I noticed about half way through putting some decorative stitching on it that the white thread was picking up the dye. Did I not let it set long enough after dying? (it sat for about 24 hrs.) I used Fiebing black dye Damon
