We have Organ 135x16DIA available in 18, 20, 23, 24. They will fit your Techsew 2750. We're not in Toronto but can ship next day or 2-3 day. Obviously different cost from generic needles but we're happy to offer both options! Ron

TechSew 2700 Zipper Foot No Clearance
Techsew Ron replied to zoomer56's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Hi there, can you PM me your information or give us a call and we'll send you replacement presser feet right away. thanks, Ron -
If you want to let me know which dealer you found it at I can tell you whether they have a new 2800 in stock - if it needs any adjustments right off the bat then it must be used as a new one would be ready to sew. You'll definitely want it adjusted properly before purchasing. Have the mechanic re-thread the machine, insert a new needle, check tensions and timing. It should be reversing properly. It sounds like you have the parts to use the machine with or without the binding attachment. Most of our machines will use Singer 111 presser feet but not the 2800. Thanks, Ron

Did I Buy A Lemon? Techsew Problems
Techsew Ron replied to pokerinot's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
We're on it. No timing issues - Just needed to re-install the needle with the groove facing the right direction. In this case it was a bit twisted. Most of the time skipped stitches can be attributed to improper needle installation, a bur/bend on the needle or improper threading. Ron -

looking good Greg ! -
thanks Gregg ! happy holidays! Yes we have them as a head-only with direct drive motor but only in 220V. Ron
-
Definitely for the thicker fur and moccasins. The thing is a beast!
-
We have many customers in the fur industry and they use a fur sewing machine like the Techsew 402 or 602 to make bear skin rugs. Ron

Correct.

In most cases yes but our large bobbin 2600 has a more narrow arm diameter (1-7/8") than the small bobbin 2700 / 227 (2.5"). Ron
-
The 2750 is a large bobbin machine whereas the 2700 / 227R is a standard bobbin size. The Consew 227 does not have reverse. Any of the above mentioned machines would be suitable for making purses, bags, wallets, journals and other leather goods. You may want to consult the dealers selling them to compare the differences between the machines. cheers! Ron
-
As mentioned above, a light/medium weight cylinder walking foot machine would be best for your needs. A narrow diameter cylinder arm and large bobbin is helpful when sewing into hard to reach areas and if you want to use larger thread sizes. Most sellers can set up the machine to prevent marking on your leather. Depending on the seller some servo motors are powerful enough to use without a speed reducer but most of us can include a reducer if you need. cheers! Ron

still available. Shipping is probably in the 250-300 range to the west coast or around 200 to the east coast.

Bobbin Winder #3 Tinker Edition.
Techsew Ron replied to TinkerTailor's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
nicely done! love that skull and bones cover I think we may make those standard on the machine -
The residential delivery charge exists because they need to change to a smaller truck that can drive on residential streets. Also depending on the delivery location they sometimes have a local truck carrier make the residential deliveries for them. Ron

I'll pretend I didn't read that! 2 person job bud!! Ron

Like Northmount said - this knob is to control the outside presser foot pressure. Ron
-
The tension should release a bit when you raise the presser foot with the pedal. Also you can pull some slack from the top before pulling the leather out. Another trick is to rock the handwheel back and forth while pulling the material out from the machine - be careful not to pull too hard because you'll risk bending the needle. Ron
-
Hi Rosemary, If you're doing mostly flat items you're ok with a flatbed machine - however if you want to sew purses and round or odd shaped products cylinder machines are be best. Smaller diameter cylinder arm is better for tighter spaces. We have flatbed attachments for all of our cylinder machines. Feel free to contact us with any questions! Ron

I Need To Tell You How Much I Hate The Consew Servo Motor...
Techsew Ron replied to JimC's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
I'd watch out with this - manufacturers will use the same external designs but the internal parts quality and capability can vary tremendously from one company to another. Same goes with machines. -
