  3. Hi guys n gals, this last year I have been asked quite a few times now if I do this type of work. Never looked into it but was wondering if anybody on here does this type of work and what is involved. They are looking for personalising of leathergoods such as wallets and purses they have already purchased. Any help will be great. Thanks in advance.
  4. New Sporrans in the making!

  5. Very nice Paul, like it very much. Only one thing! When talking about kilts and sporrans English should never be mentioned only Scottish. Lol
  6. Hi do you have picture of what your after. I have various shapes of pinking irons if they are any good. Oh where are you based?
  7. Hi thanks for reply. Machine stitches fine when off motor. Gave motor and clutch a good clean it does get better but still stopping. Noticed that when first put motor on that it slowly speeds up, so could be motor that is knackered. Ah well on the look for a new motor. Cheers.
  8. Hi my motor on my singer has decided to stop working. Everytime I start to stitch it'll pick up about 8 stitches then stop, the motor is still going but nothing happens, seems to be sticking. With a little help with from hand on top wheel it will go again for another 6-8 stitches then stop. It's got me stumped. Any ideas?
  9. looks like an old style blake stitcher, I mean stitching shoe soles on from inside the shoe out to sole.
  10. Sign me up John, based in Scotland. I do a lot of handbag repairs for a local top quality shop selling Mulberry, Radley and the likes.
  11. Really nice work, I have visited the Museum in Ubrique three times now and everytime I go I find something new. It is in an old convent at the top of the village and is free entry, it's an amazing place well worth a visit if you are in Spain.
  12. Leatheroo if you head West pick me up on the way, that is amazing David.
  13. Thanks guys. The badger was road kill and supplied by a local taxidermist. It's a real animal not fake. The gusset was sewn in by holding the fur back from edge whilst sewing, this is where my third arm came in useful lol, the cantle came from a local kilt shop as payment for repairing some gillie brogues. Unfortunately he doesn't know where it came from, it was in the shop when he took over. I have been trying to find a supplier for sporran accessories but to no avail. I could do with some help, anyone got any contacts. Most things seem to be made in India or China.
  14. Excellent it's good when a plan comes together!
  15. Here is my latest work, customer wanted a Badger sporran with metal cantle and the fore feet incorporated. Had a few problems whilst making this, particulary when trimming the skin, the fur gets everywhere. Enjoy.
