  1. Thank you. Usually the fist thing someone asks (esp when I make historical single action holster styles) is where is the strap or why is the trigger guard exposed. I understand that not everyone knows so I just try to explain it.
  2. Understandable. I will put a strap on them if they are wanted. Sometimes just a hammer spur. All depends on the person its going to usually and what they want.
  3. Nope. The holster fits like it should and holds the gun securely in place. I did however; think about putting at least a hammer spur on the back side that could be used if wanted. When people carried guns daily did you see many straps? I know I sure didn't . Thank you.
  4. Just made this holster as a gift for my father in law who has been using a nylon holster for his Single Six. I think he will like this one better as he has commented that he likes the basketweave design.
  5. Thank you. Its a Fiebings Pro Dye- Mahogany
  6. It's a Tom Threepersons Holster design.
  7. Thanks Josh. One of these days I want to try a Brill holster but haven't decided to tackle that one just yet. Been studying some of the construction methods for when I do try it out.
  8. Hello, I just finished up this 1911 Holster. I wanted to try a floral carving again. I feel this one came out better and more detailed than my first one but there is still much to improve upon.

  10. Thanks for all the kind words and pointers. Now that the Thanksgiving holiday is over I am back in the grove. I finally did some sewing last night with the machine. Wow. It is so nice. I am defiantly the weak link in the process but will get better with more practice. Those are pretty cool.
  11. Thanks. I will. Good luck on getting your Adler machine. Thanks. I just clicked the link and asked to join. I def. kept the pallet. Not sure what I am going to make out of it but it won't be wasted.
  12. Well, after much consideration I bought myself a Cobra Class 4. I have not been doing leather work very long. I have been hand sewing everything obviously. Some things I will expect I will continue to hand sew but I wanted to add a machine to my arsenal so I did. Several people tried to sway me from getting one for various reasons but often times they just came across in a bad light. I know this is a big purchase and it being my first sewing machine, I will have much to learn. It was not purchased on a whim. In fact, I told myself that if I could make half of the money from my leather work then I would put up the rest. I actually made more than half before I pulled the trigger on the machine. This is an investment in my future I guess you could say. I am happy to have found leather working and have really been enjoying learning with each project. Now I will be learning also how to work a sewing machine. Thank you all for the questions asked, questions answered, photos, patterns and all around posts about leather craft.
  13. I used Grey Ghost Graphics. It was super quick and easy. I filled out the order on a Friday morning and he text me/emailed me what it would look like to get the okay and I had my stamp by Monday. http://greyghostgraphics.com/stamps.html
  14. Very nice. I myself have done this pattern. Not as nicely as yours I must say. It was my first try at carving with a limited number of tools.
  15. Would love to see some more photos of these from the different angles.
  16. That is what I would do. I just got my first two guns from them one being a 629-1 and it worked perfect for what I was doing. Their website can be confusing for a first time user and is not exactly user friendly but give them a call and tell them what you want. Its much easier.
  17. Thanks and yes I very much agree.
  18. A guy we run cows with asked me to make him a crossdraw holster for his Heritage .22 revolver that he likes to carry. His initial request was that it be plain, black and crossdraw. I made it and had it ready to deliver and as I was walking out of the door he called and said " Hey, I don't remember if I told you or not but I want a hammer tie down thingy on it". I was literally about to walk out the door to meet up with him. I told him that he did not tell me that but I would see what I could do. I thought over what I could do to remedy this and since I did not have any lace or anything on hand to do a hammer tie down I decided to just make one out of leather and and rivet it to the holster. The rivet is out of the way and does not contact the revolver in any way when putting in and out. It holds the gun in securely (although the wet form pretty much did that anyways) and it gave him what he was looking for. He absolutely loves it. Its far better to him than the ugly nylon holster he was using that the barrel hung out of. Here are a few photos.
