  1. Thanks. Def. had Texas in mind when doing it. Thank you. Thank you. It does take time as with most things in dealing with leather work.
  2. I just found a roll of it fairly cheap locally so I decided to try it out. It does make for a nice soft interior though that don't mark up as easy. I like it.
  3. The holster is fully suede lined. The snap backs and rivet for the strap are sandwiched between the leather and the suede. Nothing comes in contact with the gun. Normally when I line a holster I stitch all the way around but since this one is for personal use I wanted to just seal up all the edges, slick them and see just how well they hold up with barge. Kind of an experimental holster for my own personal knowledge.
  4. Ended up picking up a little Heritage Rough Rider .22/.22mag combo and need a holster for it. I finished this one up and wore it all day yesterday while performing ranch duties. Feels great in a right hand strong side and a cross draw position.
  5. Excellent. I am really wanting to try a chest holster but haven't tackled the design part yet.
  6. Thanks. It's a classic design and the 1911 has the two external safeties. Its a safe design for this pistol but would not want to see it in a holster for something like a Glock. Thanks Pastor Bob.
  7. Thanks Dwight. As for the Hurricane, my house made out okay. Office power will be out 4-6 weeks so it's giving me a chance to work on leather more. Lots of people near me have it far worse. Thanks for asking.
  8. Here is my latest completion. It is a Texas Ranger inspired holster done in the classic Tom Threepersons Style. I did a basketweave star pattern on it with a Texas Ranger style badge on the front. It rides at an angle that fits good at the 4-5 o'clock position.
  9. Thanks. They are a pair of my favorites......the shooting irons that is.
  10. Thanks everyone. The holster on the left side is a right hand cross draw. The shooter will be shooting both guns with his right hand in cowboy action matches. Draws first revolver from his strong side and fires his shots then reholsters. Then he reaches across his body and draws the left holster with his right hand and fires those rounds and reholsters.
  11. Wanted a period style rig for my Open Top revolvers so I made this.
  12. Just finished up these two holsters and thought I would share them here.
  13. Nice job. My son has been wanting me to do something like that on a pair of Hey Dudes. Would share a pattern?
  14. Had a co-worker come to me and ask me to make him a holster. He wanted a holster for his XD40 that had a basketweave design, a strap and in Saddle Tan. I decided to line the inside with suede.
  15. Coming along nicely. Heck of a shop.
  16. Thank you. I wanted something that looked fairly period correct.
  17. Hey, thanks for the comments. Yeah, the 1877s are a finicky bunch. This one functions well at the moment. The holster is actually supposed to have stitching and rivets but I rushed and completely forgot to stitch around the rivets and in my haste forgot to go back and do so. I may still do it thought. I would rather not trust just one of that style rivet on each side. The holster is a copy from an actual period holster minus the stitching that I forgot. This is another one of a similar holster that I did in the same style. It has better rivets and also the stitching. And if I am not mistaken the original has the stitching all the way around the rivet rather than on just one side.
  18. Would love to see it in action.
