  1. He carried Colt Walkers though. Edit: seen where you said later that he carried Colts. Fun fact: One of the Colt Walkers carried by Clint Eastwood was also carried by Kim Darby in John Wayne's True Grit film.
  2. Thank you Chuck. The Half Flap holsters such as this were nice back then and I think they fit in perfectly for someone who wants to possibly use a gun for hunting as the half flap will hold the gun in greatly under most circumstances. Thank you Samalan. Thank you for your input. I put it there as a homage to the way they did it back then. I have also put them on the back if requested as I know some people do not like them on the front.
  3. Neat. That will be sure to start a conversation or two.
  4. I had someone contact me about the period style half flap holsters that I have been making but they wanted it fully lined. I normally do not line these but was happy to do so for him. Here is the holster. His will be for a 1860 Conversion which I do not have in my collection so I used my 1851 to model the holster.
  5. Yes it is. It was not my first intention to do so on this holster but I did not like the design I first had there so I changed it up. Its not as clean as I would like but I was going for more of a 1870s-1880s saddle shop look so it worked. Here is a stacked mules foot that I did on a pair of holsters and spur straps that are a little bit cleaner. Thanks PastorBob
  6. Thanks. Thanks and Yeah, the Vaquero just had to come home with me. I really liked the look of it also.
  7. I recently picked up an old model Ruger Vaquero at a gun show and of course it needed a holster made for it. I wanted something that resembled an original 19th century period holster that is in the Packing Iron book on page 105 (See Photo) but not an exact copy so I came up with this.
  8. Not exactly sure what you're meaning. Are you talking about the belt loops?
  9. Thanks everyone. Yeah, the Schofields are pretty nice too. I don't shoot them as well as I shoot the Colts but they are still enjoyable to have. Everyone needs at least one Schofield.
  10. Just finished up this pair of holsters for a Schofield.
  11. Good looking knife and sheath for sure.
  12. Good looking sheaths. I say make some different styles. Try looking at some older patterns and maybe do some period style sheaths from whatever period you choose. Plenty to change up while still keeping with the roots of what you are doing.
  13. Not a bad idea. I have not use scrap for bookmarks but looking at your pics, it appears that it works just fine.
  14. No problem. Depending on holster style I have a few ways that I use but this one gets used the most for this type of holster.
  15. Very nicely done as always. I have been thinking about doing a hair on holster for a while now but haven't done so. I am sure your video will be a help. Thanks. I have been a subscriber to your channel for a while now.
