  1. That's the 1 I keep leaning towards. Is 138 thread size max thread size on a Consew 206 RB-5? Thanks for your input & knowledge.
  2. Your belt Looks great! & yeah I've been teaching myself & watching a lot of tutorials on floral/Sheridan style leather carving. For my 1st project I'm thinking oak leaves & acorns for a belt. May I ask what all tools you used on your belt? I know you probably used beveler stamps for sure, but what else style stamp/figure carving tools were used? Thanks.
  3. Forgot to throw in the Consew 206 RB-5, Maybe this machine might fit the bill as well.
  4. Guys & gals what would be a good sewing machine to buy that is 138 thread capable? I was looking at the Artisan 797 or a Cowboy 797, maybe a weaver 303, or maybe the Sailite leatherwork machine. What sewing machine would be good for 138 thread & sewing wallets, card holders & other flat work? I'm looking for a smaller machine to compliment my Cobra Class 4 I'll be getting in March. Are there any cheaper sewing machine alternatives to the machines I mentioned above? Thanks any & all help greatly appreciated.
  5. That was unreal !!! What machine was that they were using to sew thru a coin. Plum Nuts!!!
  6. Nice work. Looks great! I love it.
  7. That looks Great! Nice work. Tooled belts look soo nice.
  8. Welcome to the group! Cant wait to see some of your upcoming projects. Bunch of good people here.
  9. I think I understand what you are telling me, & I will try it when the stamp shows up. Hopefully Monday all the stamp tools I ordered will be here. I'm just itching to try them.
  10. I would contact leather machine co. & see if they could walk you thru retiming it. I watched a few videos of the class 4 timing & on that machine there is 3 seperate adjustments to set timing.
  11. Welcome to the group! Bunch of good guys & gals on here willing to help out.
  12. Thanks. Definitely if you run across a pic & willing to post it, I would love to see it. I need to figure out what type of antiquing dye/gel I will need next. Thanks for the input & knowledge.
  13. Lol I thought it was Happy Wife=Happy Life.
  14. RockRash if you dont mind, would you let us all in on what size of disc magnets you used? Thanks. Much appreciated.
  15. Ha that's funny! Yes I've done that before & it is always enough to make you flipping mad. I'm sure I'll do it with this one at least once. Lol I'll have to paint 1 of the sides of the stamp yellow or red.
  16. Looks great. I like it. 1st time I've heard about a magnetic bookmark. Nice work!
  17. Thanks for the info & knowledge. I've been on & off leather craft for about 8 years now. I have decided to start buying some higher quality stamp tools. I've had the cheap stamp tools flake the chrome off over time. Next will be finding a custom makers mark stamp.
  18. Thanks that's what I was hoping someone could tell me. I cant wait to try that stamp tool out. I mainly bought the BK Sheridan style stamps, but fell in love with the looks of the lattice basketweave & have to have it. Thanks for your input. I appreciate it.
  19. They should use that as a promotion video. That's pretty amazing.
  20. Thanks appreciate that. Much appreciated.
  21. I'll have to see if I can find that video, I would like to see how the cobra class 26 does. I would think if the Class26 can do that, then a class 4 will surely punch thru kydex, with the correct needle selection. I appreciate your time & knowledge. Thanks.
  22. Yeah I was curious because Cobra said it will sew thru plastics with the correct needle selection. I was just trying to get a idea on how thick of plastic & what types of plastic. Thanks. I appreciate it.
  23. Guys & gals in feburary or march I'll be getting a new cobra class 4 sewing machine. My question is will it sew thru kydex plastic used in holsters & knife sheaths? Will it sew thru a plastic bicycle seat pan? Some type of flexible plastic. No sure what yet thou. Thanks any & all help will be greatly appreciated.
  24. Thanks TonyV I appreciate the input. Yeah I think the cheapest Barry K stamp I ordered was $34 dollars. I've heard the impressions his tools make are top notch. I figured it was time to try them out. I'll have to do some experimenting with it & dyes when it shows up. Yeah I miss the Craftool Pro stamps that were short lived, due to high pricing. They were a fine stamp tool.
  25. Guys & gals I pulled the trigger on a few Barry King stamp tools. Man them suckers make a guy cry. But they supposedly some of the best made. I ordered the Barry King #2 lattice basketweave stamp & I'm curious if any of you guys & gals got 1 & use it. How does the stamping look? What's the pattern look like when its dyed? Or is it best to leave it natural or apply a antique type gel on it? Thanks any & all help will be appreciated.
