Greetings! I am part of a project to launch a cocktail lounge in Northern California, in May 2023. We have several hundred yards of leather left over from our furniture making. We'd like a leather worker to make us custom menu covers, adding backing and/or fixtures to close, using our leather, which would match our furniture. Can your team of craftspeople help us find an artist for this work? The menu covers may have our logo embossed if that's easily done, or "printed" if that's thing, and our lounge name. We don't have a set number in mind, but a few hundred to start, I would think?

I bought this when we were planning on moving, as the first piece of my new workshop, but our situation has changed and we are not moving, I can only use this when I clear room out of our den to make space for it, then need to pack it back away! It's a shame because it is awesome and works perfectly, can sew anything I can run through it, and more! For the time being, I will just hand stitch my small sites, and leave the large items to others. Cowboy industrial sewing machines (by Toledo Industrial) are built as tough as tanks and are capable of sewing thick leather, cloth, webbing, bioplastic, and other materials, with heavy thread. Capacity: The Cowboy CB3200 Leather Stitcher or Leather Sewing Machine, pictured here, is capable of sewing up to 1/2" of saddle leather, with up to #346 bonded nylon or polyester thread. Mechanism: It has a cylinder arm of 10.5 inches in length; ideal for sewing belts, collars, tack, holsters, book covers, all sorts of cases, chaps, chinks, guitar straps, and saddlebags. The feed is performed by a compound, triple feed walking foot, which ensures that all layers will move together. The presser feet, known as Harness Feet, are made of stainless steel. My unit also has the optional flat table to give the cylinder arm a flatbed application for sewing of larger or longer items. The CB3200 uses the same bobbins, feet, and needles as other Cowboy machines. Hey everyone! I have my finally obtained my clicker and its time to try making my own dies. Is there anyone in the San Francisco Bay Area that has a rule bender that I may try out or knows of a place I can learn a bit about the process? Thanks so much for any leads! -Paul

Hi, I am new to leatherworking. I have bought an old saddle for almost nothing, and I am taking it apart and refurbishing it, and (hopefully) putting it back together. I need lots of help with types of leather, what glue to use, how to stitch, what type of shearling to use, and I'm sure I'll have more questions in the future. I am happy to have found this community and all of you experienced folks.

Hello Fellow Leatherworkers! I know there is no substitution for Kangaroo lace, and it's with a heavy heart that as of January 1st of this year, California has once again banned the importing of Kangaroo lace. I've been using Y-Knot Lace for the last six months. They are and have been amazing. But, until my wife and I move to Austin, Texas, I need to get your opinions on what brand and type of lacing is second best to Roo lace. I've used the Premium Calf Lace from Tandy... it's so so and very inconsistent. Lately it has had a real hard, waxy feel to it. Any feedback and help would be greatly appreciated in this time of mourning. The majority of my leather goods incorporate lacing... to say I'm obsessed with lacing would be an understatement. I am looking for leather stores in California. I live in Visalia, CA and I know about Tandy in clovis. I'm there about once a week. I was curious if there were any other good options in California. I would be willing to travel farther if it meant I could have some more options.
