Hello everyone I graduated from a leather course where I've used the Durkopp Adler 669 cylinder arm machine. I am looking for a machine that can be comparable to that, but preferably cheaper. I'm making small leather handbags - it needs to have a cylinder arm. I would like to make belts and wallets as well. I would say I need something that sews through medium thickness, is simple and can sew slowly and precisely when needed. I am looking at the Consew Model 277R-3 and PFAFF 335 and Techsew 2600 Pro models at the moment, but I am also open to find a model that is used or just an old type, but not too sure which brands are the most reliable. Thanks for your help in advance Blanka from Montréal

Hi , I was looking at buying a cylinder arm machine for edge binding and bag closing . Just wanted to understand the benefits of a synchronised binder vs a non synchronised swing away binder . Will the non synchronised version do just as good job ? My preference would be to have one machine such as a Seiko lcw 8 bl that I can use to close bags which also has a binder attachment for finishing the seams . Or is it worth having a dedicated synchronised binder such as a pfaff 335 , thanks for you help

I've been using my Juki 1541 W for gusset sewing, and though I've muscled through, I'd love to start working on a cylinder arm to make corners easier. What are people's favorite machines to look out for? I've been combing through facebook and other formums to find something used. It'll be my first one so I'd rather not pay for something brand new while I get adjusted. I generally use 3-4oz leather and mostly for bags, always veg tanned. Thanks! (or if anyone has tips on making gusset sewing easier on a juki, I'm all ears!)
