This was my first real leather project and the one that got me so excited to do leatherwork. I made this bag for my sister’s Birthday. She has yet to receive it. It is an original design, something simple, no hardware, but relatively tough. I made this bag on my Singer 128 using #69 bonded nylon black thread and a size 18 leather needle. There are a lot of firsts in this bag. First bag! First design! First sewing a round item! First time finishing it up with hand stitching! First time poking my thumb with the hand stitching needle! Only third sewing project altogether. I know it’s not “perfect”, but IMHO, it’s not bad!

So my wife had her birthday today and I made to items for her. For the last year she complained about the fact, that she didn't get a bag from me and why I was doing them for everyone else. I tried to argue that the other people paid for the bags, but she just dismissed that argument so today she finally got the bag and was thrilled... and I also did a belt she really liked. Both items is made of black veg tan leather, hand stitch and the bag got brown goat lining. I would love your opinion on the items, good day to you all.

Hmm... How to start? Today I had a cool idea. But this idea has come from deeper roots. I like to spend some of my social time playing tabletop war games. Specifically warhammer 40,000 by games workshop. There is a massive community out there, attracting all types of people... Some of us are the kind of people that like to dress up as Space Marines for the comic conventions... though some people go above and beyond in engaging and serving that community. Commissar Warwick is one such contributor. His YouTube channel has been an excellent source of information and entertainment for me and many others. But what a lot of people don't realise is just how much work goes into creating all of the content, editing, responding to subscribers, and more in support of these channels that are entirely free to access. So with that in mind, when Commissar Warwick asked subscribers to submit a single model to him, so that he could engage with us and form a subscriber platoon that would be fielded in games, I answered and sent him a model. It will be very cool to see it on YouTube while being used in games. But, while I was at it I thought "surely I can do more than that", so I sent him this extra gift (see video), of a book cover to say thank you for all that he does for the community. I didn't expect him to make a video about it, but I'm sure glad he did. Not only did he plug my page, he gave me a little insight into how people feel when they unbox something that people like you and me have poured our time and attention into... and it was a good feeling to hear some of the words he used to describe it! And now to the idea I spoke about earlier: I throw down the gauntlet. I challenge all of you to think of someone who has made a positive impression on you in a unique way, and make them something for gratis. Post your story and the results below!

Hey Leathercrafters, This is Buddy. My Dad's favorite son. I'm planning on giving this to him for Father's Day. I still have to lace the border. I'm planning on lacing it using the double loop two tone lacing method. All the best, Brett

The flash is a bit annoying in the pic but I will not have time for this tomorrow. I think I like the 2 colour version better than the single colour ones I did. It certainly changes the whole feel of the piece. Finally finished with Christmas gifts with a little time to spare. Fortunately we did not loose our power as so many around us did or I would have been in BIG trouble.

I made these flasks for my daughter and her friends as a prom gift. We're having a good old fashioned southern BBQ dinner and they love them. But they have warned about putting booze in them. Fun project. Thanks for looking Murray
