Hi all, I run www.etwood.co.uk and am looking for an extra pair of hands to do some ad hoc leather strap production for my company. We will be launching a new line of all-leather straps and it would be great to have someone external take over production duties. You will be producing small batches of 50-100 units every couple of months initially, with the intention of increasing this as we get on. Very simple straps: https://toneparty.co/collections/guitar-straps/products/brown-3-4-guitar-strap https://toneparty.co/products/honey-3-guitar-strap-1 No stitching needed, no edge paint, just the ability to cut the shapes and put them together. I'm London based so ideally you'd be local but this is not absolutely essential. Any takers? I'd prefer to pay per hour and keep things in and around the £15 mark. Best, Adam

Hello everyone. It never occured to me to look for a dedicated online forum when I first started out on this little adventure. My story starts the same way many of your do too - A couple of years ago, I was in need of a new belt. I was usually content with the store-bought belts that I had been wearing all my life until I saw a guy with a genuine veg tan leather belt and asked him about it. I told my brother about what I had seen and the conversation that ensued, a week later a beginners leatherworking tool kit arrived with a dozen belt blanks and a note from my brother telling me to have at it and see what I could do. Those first few belts were a disaster; horrible dye jobs. The edges were nowhere near nice enough to show anyone. I rushed through the first batch rather than taking my time to get them right. I have since slowed down. Each step it taken with care. As my skills improved, so have my tools. My most recent project is a new wristband for my watch as they don't make them long enough to go around my wrists. -
When my father returned from WWII, he brought back a type of notebook sometimes called a field secretary that he had captured from the German Army. It shows the busy design and attention to detail of many German-made artifacts of that era. Time has taken its toll, and I am interested to find someone who could replicate it. Business minded people needed. I have an idea to get into an untapped market within belt making. I have the idea and the design, but not the skill to make it come to life. If anyone is willing to take this on with me please let me know. I live in Minnesota, so it would be best if you live in the Midwest to lower the amount of travel time for the various meetings we would need to have. We currently import our bags from china and are looking to move production to the US and want to find a leatherworker to help rework our prototypes to get them ready for production. We are planning on have 3-4 main styles and will be using 6oz leather.
