Hello, looking to have a rifle scope cover remade. Id like to have the leather matched as close as possible to a sling i just had remade which is a darker brown. I am able to source a matching piece of leather from the company that created the sling if need be. Pictures And specifications can be sent via email to make it easier. Its basically two cups that have a depth of 3.2cm, 3.5cm inner diameter, 4cm outer diameter. Connected by a piece of leather that is roughly 27.5cm long cup to cup. Well it's been a while since I've posted so I thought Id show you the latest rifle slings I've just wrapped up in the last few weeks. Both slings are made from 8-9oz Hermann Oak veg tanned leather. The oak leaf sling is finished in Eco Flo med. brown antique, and the Snake skin sling is finished in Fiebings med. brown dye, and both were topped off with a coat of neatsfoot oil and aussie. This was my first reptile/exotic skin project, and it was a lot of fun to make. This is an Eastern Diamond Back rattlesnake from South GA.

Hi, Can anyone tell me where I can get a pattern for a 1876 lever action, with a 28" barrel. I believe this is a 44-60 Bicentennial Limited Edition. Any advice would be welcome. This is my first post, so many thanks. Steve

Finished off another rifle stock butt cover. Made from 6oz veg tanned leather, dyed Chestnut in color. Feathers are hand drawn and tooled. End is hand stitched to cover the back of the stock. Has 9 loops to hold rifle shells in the 30-30, .303 range size. 7.62 will also fit but very tight. I also used the tandy lace cutter to make the lace from some 4oz drum dyed black leather I had kicking around.

The first of two scabbards for my brothers-in-law. This is the biggest project I've tackled. Some of my first lace work... Just a little for now. I was a little disappointed with how scuffed up the piece got over the course of construction. I was thinking a carpeted work table might help protect it some- any ideas? I know I should be more careful with how I handle it, but any specific ideas you've used that help avoid collateral damage to your project when you handle and work it?

A couple custom slings I did recently. I was skeptical about the request but after finishing, I thought they were pretty cool. Different, but cool. www.singletreeleather.com

Anyone have a good scoped rifle saddle scabbard pattern?

I dunno how much bragging to do on this but I'm pleased with it regardless. I learned a few things - most notably be a little over on all measurements. I had this measured to meet along the bottom of the butt - it ended up actually on the sides. But it actually looks alright that way. I'm not sure if it was shrinkage or what since I had checked the fit before I tooled on it. I used the actual rifle butt cap plus some cork I cut to shape as a mold and wet molded the cap. Unfortunately i was unable to get the top and bottom radiuses to mold properly. I ended up cutting them and using a leather "patch" to close it at top and botton. I did measure the cartridge loops accurately which pleased me no end and it ensured the bullets are held tightly. I had created a previous version that was just a "saddle". It slipped after a while from the taper of the rifle butt. This one came about from a couple of conversation about the cowboy shooting "purists" sticking their nose up at recoil pads, and another on using tacks and rivets looking "tacky". So - I wanted to make one with a "cap" to keep the sleeve in place and I used rivets to hold things in place. I made it a little deeper so it would hold a piece of gel as a recoil pad. Comments and critique appreciated! From left to right: butt cap, recoil pad, sleeve, cartridge strip The finished product. I could use suggestions on a tidier and better looking way to tie the lacing.
