Members Hairic Posted August 17, 2022 Members Report Posted August 17, 2022 Trying to find a place to buy super thin veg tan leather, needing it for super thin/light wallet, like what you would buy at wallmart 1/2 Oz more than likely. Can't seem to find anything that thin. I purchased the sk-4 skiver from tech sew and definitely have some learning to do on it so need to find pre thinned until I'm confident enough to make my own. This customer wants the check book style wallet lined as well so really trying to keep the bulk down on this the best I can. Quote
Members DJole Posted August 17, 2022 Members Report Posted August 17, 2022 Many leather suppliers will skive leather to your requested thickness prior to sending it to you. (I know that Rocky Mountain Leather Supply, for example, does this.) Quote
Members dikman Posted August 17, 2022 Members Report Posted August 17, 2022 I don't know if it's available where you are but kangaroo hide is thin and tough. Quote
CFM tsunkasapa Posted August 18, 2022 CFM Report Posted August 18, 2022 Look into veg tan goat. Quote

Although I think I'll give rockymountain leather a call and see what I can have done for me. Quote
acope Posted August 19, 2022 Report Posted August 19, 2022 Hairic, You might give Traditions Leathercraft in Oklahoma City call. He can ship or you can run down and check out his 8000 sq foot warehouse. https://traditionsleathercraft.com 405-265-2001 Quote
