Tried the hand carved basket weave on this one. Its a rough test of concept and I made some errors, but its not bad. Still needs the holes punched, but you get the idea.

I cant even sharpen a pencil, much less hand carve basket weave..lol...thats awesome work brother...ive decided that my complete lack of carving, tooling, stamping skills means i was meant to work with exotic leather....lol..thats my excuse for now anyway...

Great Job! I like the design. Also, I love the thread you used. Isn't that the braided cord from Tandy? I think it is a great thread to work with and so many colors.

It took me a while to realize that the basketweave literally is "carved" as opposed to "stamped".

Fabulous work!

What kind of a beveler did you use? Is it triangle-shaped?
