AndyL1 Posted October 4, 2013 Report Posted October 4, 2013 That's a fantastic idea! Nice craftsmanship too. May I ask where you got the LEDs and the pack? Cheers, Andy Quote
Members RoyalLeatherDesigns Posted October 4, 2013 Members Report Posted October 4, 2013 Those are nice! I too want to know where you bought the LEDs and how are they powered I am guessing through a battery but once it's out how do you replace it. Are those two pictures of the same collar or ? Quote
Members TXAG Posted October 4, 2013 Members Report Posted October 4, 2013 (edited) You should be able to get those parts (LED's and battery pack) from mouser.com... e.g. http://www.mouser.com/_/N-8usfj They also have lots of different color LED's...gives me an idea...I might have to develop my idea on kickstarter or something... Tree Reaper Posted October 4, 2013 Author Report Posted October 4, 2013 (edited) Thanks. The pictures are two of the same collar. They are automotive LED strips bought two in a package at Walmart and powered by a 9 volt battery. The cover slides off the battery box for battery replacement. Members Mijo Posted October 4, 2013 Members Report Posted October 4, 2013 Great idea, solid design and construction. Thanks for sharing and the inspiration, I bet you end up selling a bunch of those. I went to super zoo earlier this year and there were a few manufacturers with LED collars, but none as nice as what you posted. Quote
Tree Reaper Posted October 5, 2013 Author Report Posted October 5, 2013 Thank you Mijo, I appreciate the compliment. Quote
Tree Reaper Posted October 5, 2013 Author Report Posted October 5, 2013 Thank you; The only real problem I have is with the battery box. The switch is on the bottom of the box and has to be relocated to the end. The top slides off to replace the battery so why they would put the switch on the bottom is beyond me. Quote
