TJP Report post Posted January 7, 2015 Here is a series of photos of a vase I was commissioned to create. Flowers are colored with acrylic artist colors and background is dark brown leather dye, finished with satin clear finish.

thefanninator Report post Posted January 7, 2015 (edited) Nice job laying out the border stamp. That stitching up the side is not easy. Edited January 8, 2015 by thefanninator

TJP Report post Posted January 8, 2015 Thanks everyone for all your wonderful comments! Fanninator, I believe you want to see this pic also. There wasn't enough room on my first post to include it. Thanks Wild Bill. I'm pleased with the way it has come out. Thanks Rohn! I try. You're quite welcome Tom! Thanks Chris!
thefanninator Report post Posted January 8, 2015 Thanks, I ended up finding it in the gallery. Very nice. I tried this stitch on a quiver over a year ago using Al Stohlman's book but gave up and just did a double loop lace.
TJP Report post Posted January 8, 2015 Lacing looks good too Fanninator! I found with the stitching, you have to really work it afterwards to get out the unwanted awl marks. I had to wet the area real good and rub with a bone folder until I was satisfied .
thefanninator Report post Posted January 8, 2015 Well, I kinda cheated and punched all the way through. Did you come out the side like Stohlman's book explains?
TJP Report post Posted January 8, 2015 Yes I did using a curved awl.
