Jackdawe Report post Posted August 7, 2015 We needed something to be a show piece for our stall - so Pete asked me what he should make? As he used to run a Country and Western shop and used to make gun rigs I suggested he make one. He didn't take much pursuading as he had been itching to make one for a bit. :D He also chose to do it in a Sheridan Style. The design itself took a couple of days to organise and trace out on paper before it even met leather. That in its self was not a simple thing - a work of patience - which I am very glad he has in abundance - because I think the finished article is rather nice. The holsters have been molded around Peacemakers. It does get alot of comments from people - even if sometimes they are not sure what they are looking at - I have had a couple of smart arses even laugh and point at it and say that it is a chastity belt. In a way - yes it is! *grin*

carr52 Report post Posted August 7, 2015 Are you kidding me??? That has to be the most AWESOME rig I have ever seen. Looks like it should go to a Museum of Leather MasterCraft. I'll be staring at this one for a very long time. Thank you for sharing it with us. Tom
dikman Report post Posted August 8, 2015 That is a very impressive rig. Ugly as hell, imo, but very impressive! (Guaranteed to get attention).
LederRudi Report post Posted August 8, 2015 I agree. I wouldn't even dream of accomplishing something comparable, but ... isn't the sequence of the Sheridan circles somewhat unbalanced?
donovan1974 Report post Posted August 8, 2015 Very impressive! Wow! That is the work of a true leather artist. I am humbled at this type of work. I make simple book covers, journals, wallets...from Utility oil hides, latigo and vegtan... no real tooling on my work. I recently bought some tooling tools and picked up some second hand tools through a friend. Someday I hope to be able to pull off something like that. Its not really my style, but I still want to be able to do the work! :-) donovan

BondoBobCustomSaddles Report post Posted August 10, 2015 All the superlatives have already been used, so I'll just add my congrats on nice work. It reminds me of a song, my dad used to sing, "pistol totin' mama lay that pistol down". Again, nice work. Bob
stu925 Report post Posted August 11, 2015 The work is awesome even if it's not to my particular liking. I'm much more of a simple guy, that rig is a bit over the top for me. I can appreciate the work and the number of hours involved in making it though, it's an incredible amount of work. Very nice work. Stu
