Dave Richardson Report post Posted January 14, 2016 This is a small handbag I just finished up. Its 8x6x2 made from 10oz black latigo, open unlined interior with a mystry braid snap on handle. Fun project. Thanks for looking and comments are always appreciated.
Colt W Knight Report post Posted January 14, 2016 Your simple handbag is way more intricate and complicated than the purses I make. I would like to see your not so simple bags.

Chief Filipino Report post Posted January 14, 2016 Looks good! Is there a way to make your tooling stand out from the rest of the bag? Overall it is a really nice color but the tooling gets a little lost in all the black, unless of course that is what you were going for. This isn't quite so much a comment on your bag, as more of a general comment for my learning experience.
MonicaJacobson Report post Posted January 15, 2016 Nice bag, I didn't realize you could tool latigo. Was it pre-dyed?
Dave Richardson Report post Posted January 17, 2016 Nice bag, I didn't realize you could tool latigo. Was it pre-dyed? Yes its drum dyed latigo. It actually tools really nice. I have some bags and holsters out there well over a year and a half and the tooling still looks crisp. The trade off is its hard to get detail to stand out with solid black. I'm influenced by amish leather workers so I like the black and nickel.

My wife likes leather bags, but, says they tend to get overly heavy ! Especially when lady loaded . lol --- Wild Bill46

My wife likes leather bags, but, says they tend to get overly heavy ! Especially when lady loaded . lol --- Wild Bill46 Well I have never weighed one before....but I have now . This bag weighs in at 1 lb. We ride motorcycles and these bags are made for taking the basics along on the ride. The latigo is off 8 to 10 oz. Overall its not a full 10 oz. Thanks for looking... Dave Richardson Report post Posted January 20, 2016 "Simple"? Liar! Looks awesome, and I rather like the subtle effect of black on black tooling. Thanks...i think. I called it simple because its three pieces plus handle, no liner, no pockets no zippers. Drum dyed latigo so no dying.
