Members OneRedBear Posted February 18, 2017 Members Report Posted February 18, 2017 My first attempt at a biker style wallet. I'm only a couple months into the whole leather crafting and really enjoying it. I learned a lot from this project. Quote
bikermutt07 Posted February 19, 2017 Report Posted February 19, 2017 It does look good, but I got to ask...... How did you come by a piece of leather with the Willie G. skull? There must be a story behind that. Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with. Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day. From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Maybe a badge from a vest that got road rash, or something similarly as cool. Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... Members OneRedBear Posted February 22, 2017 Author Members Report Posted February 22, 2017 Thanks everyone for the generous comments. As for the Willie G. skull, I used a laser etcher I got on Amazon for about $60 bucks awhile back. I tried it on some test scraps of leather and it worked. Actually come to think about it, I do have a cool HD leather jacket that has some road-rash, but I cant bring my self to cut it for a wallet just yet . Since my last post I made another wallet just to try out some different patterns and ideas. I'd really like to get my skills up to do something like this, https://www.pinterest.com/pin/820569994575962924/ so if anyone can give me pointers, it would be greatly appreciated! Quote
bikermutt07 Posted February 22, 2017 Report Posted February 22, 2017 That's cool. I just knew it wasn't easy to come by them skulls. They didn't even make back patches out of them. If you wanted it on your back it was either a 500 dollar jacket or a 300 dollar vest. I opted for the vest. Turns out the snaps wouldn't even stay buttoned at 60 with a windshield. I was pissed. But I digress. If you want the quality of those wallets you need two things. Lots of time pouring over information here and lots of time at the bench. It will take awhile, but you will get there. I'm not there yet, so we can go together. Haha. Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later....
