Nice work! What did you use as a core?

I did NOT know that bikers needed this. Nice job, though!

I just used a piece of nylon rope.  However in the future I'd like to make them with a larger diameter so I think I'll have to move up to a 4 or 6 plait braid.  The 4 plait gets a little thin when my lace is only 5mm.

Just google biker whip and you can learn the history.  It is often called a "get back".

I think a 6-strand braid would work nicely, especially since it could get potentially get a lot of exposure to the elements

I agree, particularely around a thicker core but since I'm using roo lace the cost is already huge. Adding two more strips really increases that.

It's called a get back. They are generally clipped to the brake handle around here. There are a lot of clubs around here.lol

Very cool. I've never seen a leather one. The ones I see are made out of paracord. But that's just because I frequent paracord pages n such. The benefit to leather is that you can size your strands according to your core. Whereas paracord you can't.

Just start out slow and you build up to more and finer strands. I'd try 6 or 8 next, then maybe 12 or 16 hehe looks awesome to me
