Panerai Watch Strap

Thanks to all who helped me out. Once I got started it wasn't that hard to accomplish. Let me all know what you think. It is a thick strap, because it goes on a Panerai which is a huge watch. The straps for a Panerai are usually 4-6mm thick. Anyways here are the other thousand words:

Wow, that's really nice. I'm wondering as well how you did that. I had an order for a watch strap once and I said never again. It was so dang SMALL, it was really hard to work with, course I'm used to big stuff. That's just real nice and unique, I've never seen anything like it.

How was this strap made? Or since this is an old thread, how does anyone think this was made. Looks to me like the leather was cased, and then formed around a filler strip of somekind. THoughts?
