Members JW Posted May 14, 2018 Members Report Posted May 14, 2018 So I decided to try my hand at some more Hawaiian tooling, this time I drew the design myself. In comparison to the valet tray I did, it is minuscule. The only reason it is so irregularly shaped is because I drew for this particular piece of scrap leather. Everything here was done with a SK, 1 backgrounder, and 2 bevelers. Let me know what you guys think, thanks for checking it out. Quote

Members Tugadude Posted May 16, 2018 Members Report Posted May 16, 2018 Very cool. I like the way it goes from flat to 3D with the beveling. BTW, don't know if you are in Hawaii, but if so, prayers to you and yours. Quote
Members LederRudi Posted May 16, 2018 Members Report Posted May 16, 2018 Unique! Great design! Makes me think about imitating such a decoration on a shave kit. Quote

Members JW Posted May 16, 2018 Author Members Report Posted May 16, 2018 @Tugadude Thanks, the beveling really alters the look and feel of the sketch. I'm not in Hawaii, but I have a lot of family and friends out there, I appreciate the prayers. @LederRudi Thank you, the design is fairly simple to draw, it's very geometric. The only hurdle, as I think with all drawing, is getting the proportions down. @Bob Blea Thanks Bob! Quote
Members battlemunky Posted June 24, 2018 Members Report Posted June 24, 2018 That is really cool work dude, I especially like the basket weave on the left and right bottoms of the piece. Quote
Members noobleather Posted June 25, 2018 Members Report Posted June 25, 2018 (edited) Really top work on the beveling. Looks very professional. Any tips on how you did it?what tools did you use for it? Edited June 25, 2018 by noobleather Quote
Members bdpeters Posted November 1, 2018 Members Report Posted November 1, 2018 very nice. I cant say i have ever seen a design like that. Quote
Members rodneywt1180b Posted November 4, 2018 Members Report Posted November 4, 2018 A great looking piece. It looks like it could be a sampler of different designs. Many would make great border treatments. Quote
