Hello folks!
I bring my first wallet to them to see. I made it from scratch with measurements and shapes that I designed.
You can criticize if you wish.
next time I will try to get a more natural leather and a little thicker than this that is 1.3 mm thick.
I still do not finish it but I will publish some photos to update.

Thank you!

Looks good, only tip I have is if you are using edge paint keep building up the paint on the edge and sand in between layers with 1000 grit sandpaper until you get a nice rounded edge.

Some Update.

I decided to do the sewing with black thread. I take some work to make the holes because my tool is homemade. I painted some edges, I need to finish that and put some cards to test and they were great, they are not tight nor loose.

G'day,

The Ostrich leather looks so nice, lovely colour  and texture . The braided thread will last ....for ever , that stuff is so strong.

Well done :)

Great leather, love the combination of white and black yarn, gives it something extra :-)

Ostrich leather is forbidden in Brazil as well as were I am located. But anyways.

Guys, were did you get it it's ostrich leather? Ostrichs are forbidden to hunt over here. Those clean your grass pasture from Worms and other bad insects. And yes it's true an Ostrich sticks his head into an (sand) hole when he is exhausted and an predator is running after him. He thinks if he sticks his head into an earthhole he is safe (since he cant see anymore his Body which is exposed to the predator).

We have here plenty of wild ostrichs and their Skin is pretty Thin. Could be that their leather gets to 1.3mm (about 2 to 3 oz) but not more. You could use as well some chicken leather (if such exists) which should be similar to ostrich leather.

How do you do the edges? Do you bind them with Nylon webbing? I have just recently found out binding is a very good and quick alternative for any other fussy edge finishes.

If it’s an invasive species, why is it illegal to hunt?
