With the recent arrival of the CB3200 from Bob at Toledo Sewing I was able to sew up a little scrap I had laying around as a test. My carving is iffy at best and I didn't do a very good job of a clean stitch line, but it wont scratch anything in the safe for now. 2 layers of 10-12 oz . Veg tan, with same weight welt. The knife is hand made by someone named Walsh, but as far as I can find out it's not The Walsh knife maker from Alaska. 11 inch blade, natural horn handle.

So much leather...so little time.

Looks great!  There’s something very satisfying about stitching thick leather so effortlessly!

Well done with the stitching.

The carving isn't bad and other than practice all I can suggest is working to keep the pattern as "centred" in the piece as possible so there is a  balance between background and tooled across the piece and top to bottom around the pattern as far as possible. General rule of course and some times you want to have more background for hardware reasons etc.

Now of course we need to see the blade.....

I do not know enough about carving to critique your skills. But I do like the holster. Great job on the stitching, especially with just recently coming to own the machine. Thank you for sharing.

Can I ask what size thread you are using on that holster?

Yep. Blade time. Definitely blade time.

Looks awesome to me.

I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with.

Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day.

From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.

I'm sorry gents. I too quietly wish folks would show the knives and shooters when they post. Brain fart on my part. Here's the knife. It is made by WALSH but I have checked and it doesn't seem to have been made by the Walsh's in Alaska. If anyone might know of this maker please let me know I'd like to send them a love note.

CORRECTION, it is a 10 inch blade, so a little bigger than a pocket knife with an over all length of 16 inches or pure sticky love.

That is totally the knife Mick Dundee dreams of in the "THIS is a knife" scene from Crocodile Dundee. Mighty fine looking pig sticker.
