Members corkscrew Posted October 5, 2018 Members Report Posted October 5, 2018 Birthday present for one my sons. Shot shell beg with loops for a belt, should hold 75+ 12 gauge shells. Quote CorkscrewTom
garypl Posted October 5, 2018 Report Posted October 5, 2018 Nice looking bag and carving! What type leather did you use? Gary Quote Cowboy 4500, Consew 206RB-4

Members Rohn Posted October 5, 2018 Members Report Posted October 5, 2018 Wow! That is a beauty. Very fine work! Quote Rohn(John 8:32) And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (KJV)
alpha2 Posted October 5, 2018 Report Posted October 5, 2018 My hound went crazy when she saw the squirrel! Must be a good likeness, very realistic. Quote So much leather...so little time.
Members RegisD Posted October 6, 2018 Members Report Posted October 6, 2018 Great idea, great carving, outstanding coloring. Very nicely done! Quote Handmade doesn't have flaws it's just built-in character.
Members battlemunky Posted October 6, 2018 Members Report Posted October 6, 2018 This is going to sound completely wrong, but I love your wood. The bark is colored and textured really nicely and the squirrel is well done too. Quote
Rockoboy Posted October 6, 2018 Report Posted October 6, 2018 I like the different textures above and below the tree branch. Just a couple questions ... what is the weight of 75+ 12G shotgun shells? How will this case stand up to carrying that sort of weight, or does the case become a storage box (not a carry-case) when it's full? Members Elom Posted October 6, 2018 Members Report Posted October 6, 2018 Very beautiful work you have done, that carving and coloring are just gorgeous. Which thickness of the leather have you used for this project? Quote www.elom-leatherworks.com

Expand Brian, I shoot sporting clays, skeet and trap and I use a small shell box holder for one box of loaded shells and just use the larger pouch like this for empties. I wouldn’t want to carry 75 loaded shells in the pouch - it would tilt me over to one side! LOL! Gary Quote Cowboy 4500, Consew 206RB-4
Members chrisash Posted October 6, 2018 Members Report Posted October 6, 2018 Normally each cartridge holds a 28 gram of lead (1 once) Quote Mi omputer is ot ood at speeling , it's not me
Members corkscrew Posted October 6, 2018 Author Members Report Posted October 6, 2018 Thanks everyone for the compliments. The leather is approximately 7-8 oz. He probably won’t carry 75 all at once, more like 50. Just put 75 as an estimate of size. 3 rivets on each belt loop, but I may need to beef it up. Will see after he uses it. Quote CorkscrewTom
Members DJole Posted October 6, 2018 Members Report Posted October 6, 2018 That's a nice looking squirrel and branch. Good modeling and excellent coloring! The texturing on the backgrounds is a nice touch, too. And I suppose it even works for its intended purpose, so it's all a win! Quote \D.
