I made a belt for my son for Christmas.

Vegtan about 3.0mm thick X 25mm wide, neatsfoot oil then several coats of mahogany antique to get the colour I wanted then finished with Tan Kote, buckle is a Western set from Birdsall Leather. 

Note to self: Do not apply ANYTHING with lambswool, unless the shag-pile look is the aim!

Unless you put it in a cloth? I used to do this for french polishing. I would wash the wool, then tease it out until fluffy and put it into a old white t-shirt. you dip it or dampen it then you put it in the t-shirt making a ball and apply it that way. you only get the hairs on your finger tips form dipping.

Thanx guys. Not as clean and tidy as some I see here, but it is what it is, and it should last him until he out grows it.
