Members datdraku Posted April 3, 2019 Members Report Posted April 3, 2019 Finished this wallet, the most complicated one I made thus far. Modeled after the clients older one. Quote
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted April 3, 2019 Contributing Member Report Posted April 3, 2019 HEY I like it Bold lines and contrasting colors make this attractive and noteworthy without being gaudy and obtrusive. Decorated, but not over done. Quote

Members YinTx Posted April 3, 2019 Members Report Posted April 3, 2019 Really handy design, cleanly executed. I can see a lot of little challenges to putting that together, and it is well done without any errors that I see. Nice! YinTx Quote

It looked a little scary at the beginning, but turned out not to be so bad. Had a few moments of staring at the pieces wondering how the hell am i gonna put this thing together, but they passed Quote

Members akguy59 Posted April 4, 2019 Members Report Posted April 4, 2019 I have to agree with everyone else, that looks great. The dark , light contrast really makes it pop. Quote
Contributing Member Bob Blea Posted April 4, 2019 Contributing Member Report Posted April 4, 2019 That looks really elegant! How did you do the white parts of the design? Are they an inlay? Quote
Members Tugadude Posted April 4, 2019 Members Report Posted April 4, 2019 Love your work. I always like "accent" items such as the textured card slots. Is that something that you do as a "signature" on your wallets. If so, it is very cool. I like features like that. It may seem simple, but just a change in texture or color on one element can give an item a unique appeal. I'm guessing the white triangles are painted? Also, would like to know what thought process went into the stitching and the size of the vertical card slots. It turned out very well. Quote
Members noobleather Posted April 4, 2019 Members Report Posted April 4, 2019 A very elegant piece of work, one day I would like to produce work of this level. Quote

It's the first time i use the accented thing, did not have the leather for it until now. Always wanted to try it and i love how it turned out. Yes, triangles are painted. Size for the pockets I took from the cluents old wallet. Don't know what else to say, they are simple T slot pockets 3 hours ago, noobleather said: A very elegant piece of work, one day I would like to produce work of this level. Thanks! Members Tugadude Posted April 5, 2019 Members Report Posted April 5, 2019 The point I was making about the slots was the fact that the size worked out just right with the stitching. I only saw one stitch or two that are demonstrably bigger than the others to ensure the tops are cinched down. Not easy to do. I was wondering if you adjusted the width to your irons. Quote

Now I understand. Unfortunately I did not completely think this part through. Made the pockets the same dimensions as the old ones, which was not great with the stitching spacing. Did not turn out as good as I wanted. And also, the stitching above the pockets, in both cases , was added after, and it shows. Only after it was done i realised a full.stitch would look better Quote
Members Tugadude Posted April 5, 2019 Members Report Posted April 5, 2019 I think you did just fine. I was not looking to criticize but actually compliment on how well they turned out in general. Quote
