kgg Posted October 8, 2019 Report Posted October 8, 2019 To help you get more informed suggestions. You need to provide more info on what you plan on sewing and what is your budget. kgg Quote
Northmount Posted October 8, 2019 Report Posted October 8, 2019 @utah leather Have you read through this thread? https://leatherworker.net/forum/topic/25239-the-type-of-sewing-machine-you-need-to-sew-leather/ Tom Quote
KAYAK45 Posted October 9, 2019 Report Posted October 9, 2019 No, you do not "NEED" a sewing machine... you want one! Go to the sewing machine forum site as NORTHMOUNT suggests. Spend oh … say.. 5 hours there.. and you will have a half century of knowledge, for free. That's the whole point of this site. OR. spend thousands of $$ on your own and FAIL. Don't ask how I know this to be true! God bless and good luck hunting! Kevin Quote
Members dikman Posted October 9, 2019 Members Report Posted October 9, 2019 1/4" leather is not considered heavy leather and any upholstery-class machine should handle it, but yes, more info needed - what do you want to sew, thread size, budget etc. Quote
