zoomer56 Report post Posted December 14, 2019 This is a sheath for a 2.5" blade made by my brother. The pocket clip is attached to blue lizard and that is sandwiched between two 2/3 oz pieces of leather. what's is new to my sheaths here is the blue welt. wizard of tragacanth Report post Posted December 14, 2019 (edited) I would swear that I posted on this but maybe I sent a PM instead or forgot to click Send. Love the 2-tone color scheme and the contrasting welt, which turns one of the most boring parts of a sheath into a stand-out feature! Genius! zoomer56 Report post Posted December 15, 2019 Here is a picture of the knife. I've tried several ways to get color into the welt over the past year. This was the keeper. Thank you for the comments. I have plain steel, black and brass pocket clips available.
Sperrier Report post Posted December 15, 2019 wow!
zoomer56 Report post Posted December 16, 2019 Thanks Sperrier. I think I've got the process and the pattern down. This knife (Agilis V2) only has a 2.5" blade, so it is small and carries pretty good in the front pocket.

JayEhl Report post Posted December 16, 2019 Hi all. Still a noob, here. What is a welt?
wizard of tragacanth Report post Posted December 16, 2019 Look at the second picture from the top. See the light blue layer of leather between the front and back of the sheath? That is a welt. In a knife sheath it is used to prevent the knife from cutting the stitching of the sheath. Welts are also used in shoes for different reasons. nick
