IFoLG in Ft. Worth 2007

Recommended Posts

Less than 2 months now until IFoLG in Ft. Worth and I was wondering if many of our LW.net group are going. Is there an easy place/time to get togather as a group and meet? Or, perhaps some way to identify (e.g. large LWN on name badge)? Ideas?

I'll be there eager to learn something.

I'll be there, barring any work issues or what have you. I'd be interested in meeting everyone.

I was planning to go, too, but I just accepted a new job, and now I'm not sure if I'll be able to get the time off either. I thought I'd make "business cards" that people can print off and pass out, if they want to. I'll see what I can come up with, and post it to this thread.

Thank you, i'll be here all week. Please tell a friend.

If you can come up with something that would be cool. I'll place some at the local TLF also.

Put them on leather. I've done that before - laser engraved it. Works like a charm. Detail is every bit as good as a traditional card.

Alright, here goes;

We could start-up an Events forum for these things if we start getting a thread for every show.

Wifey (Rosemarie) and I are going to the 2007 IFoLG show in Ft. Worth October 18, 19, 20, and 21 via Gatlinburg TN for shopping and Memphis for BBQ (Commissary in Germantown).

Whoall's going to be there?

I also promised Johanna a steak if she made it, so who is interested in that expedition? I'll go anywhere for a steak or BBQ without much arm twistin' (just to keep it leather related), and there will probably be yard bird and fish for you low cholesterol types.

No use always meeting in cyberspace.

Oh, goody! I love steak! I'm planning on getting in sometime early Friday from Panama City Beach. I don't know how I talked my mother into watching my kids, but she did agree. Looking forward to seeing old and new friends!

Johanna,

Take LOTS AND LOTS of pics. Wish I could have entered a piece this year but getting a seat done (it still is 3/4 finished) and getting the tags from Pitt Pounders in time to meet the entry deadline just wasn't going to happen soon enough. But I'll see you next year in Columbus.

Maybe by that time we could actually have a guild here in Cincy! Our Tandy manager is really gung-ho in getting things like this done.

If you get the seat done, David, I'll carry it there. Who is the Cincy Tandy manager? Think there is enough interest for another Ohio guild? I wish Tandy wanted to have a store in St Marys.

Johanna,

The Tandy manager is Michael Boursaw. We have a Wednesday night workers group that meets at the store and usually draws 6-8 folks every week. So I would think that there are enough people here in southwestern Ohio to justify a guild.

I just got my yak hide back from that bad bull I put in the freezer last spring. It's beautiful! I will be at the IFoLG show in Fort Worth with the hide. If you're going and want to see it, it will be at Columbine Leather Guild's display table. Go ahead and pet it, he can't throw you through the air now! Bet you can't find the long white hairs.

I'm also doing a demo that Friday morning at the show, "Face Lift". If you care to see how I tool facial features in leather, come on by!

See you at the show!

I am not going to be at the show, but I should have some things entered if Kathy doesn't forget and leave them at her house. I probably deserve that because I completly spaced out posting the recent class she taught in a Tandy store in Denver to the calendar. ::( She taught how to carve horse head and from the pictures, she did a GREAT job of it. I'll post the pictures elsewhere. The good news (for those of you going to the show) is, Kathy is doing a demonstration at the show in Fort Worth, as she mentioned. Here is the subject for her demo.

He demo will be from 9 till noon on Friday.

I also heard from Dave Peterson that he and his wife Cheryl are going to the show. Cheryl is Robb Barr's sister. Her and Dave are really nice people. They are going to have a booth at the show displaying a bunch of Robb's work and it sounds like some of it may even be for sale. If you have never seen any of Robb's work in person, you need to check it out.

So there are a couple more things for you to do while at the show. And dont forget to take LOTS of pictures!

Clay
