A local police chief wanted a nice western rig to go with his 1911 for daily wear. Dress belt and duty rig. The belt is the Springfield craftaid. Holster, mag pouch, and handcuff case were created by my wife. Dress belt is 6/7 oz skirting with 3/4oz lining. Rig is two layers of 7/8oz skirting. Everything else is 7/8oz and 8/9oz for the holster.  Everything was airbrushed with thinned walnut pro dye.

This was a fun project that got delayed after I ruptured my bicep and had a fun little surgery.  The chief had these buckles made, and I think they look great

Good lookin stuff, . . . even if it is easy to make a 1911 look good.............:)

May God bless,

Thinned AND airbrushed AND STILL that dark?@!  Looks good - but that must be some RICH dye.  Some light thread and some silver buckle lightened it up just about right.

Thanks fellas. It was nice to not work on a piece of plastic. Been a while.

Between antique and finishes, it took on some darkening. I can’t complain too much, but if I want to go lighter on a project like this, 60/40 thinner to dye might be better. Or more.

Outstanding! The Chief sure will stand out from the rest of his department with that being his daily rig.

Thank you! I don’t get many requests for Fully tooled work, so I was glad to do this

He drew inspiration from the Texas Rangers. I’ll be interested to see if he wears it on a regular basis.

I had a picture that someone took.  They saw him at a store and sent me the picture.  So he’s wearing it. Its one of the top 10 largest agencies in Mississippi, so it’s pretty cool, to me, that he wears it daily.

I love it.   What type of Belt loop did you use for Back of the holster?

thank you. It’s just a single loop that tapered from, I think 2-1/2” down to 1-1/4”, and rounded at the top and bottom.  I wanted it wide enough so that it wouldn’t have much wiggle room

That was exactly what he said he wanted to look like.

Not too bad for a Chief. I talked to him the other day. He wants a matching watchband for a family member, but he says he gets compliments everywhere he goes. Thank you for the kind words.
