motocouture Report post Posted April 19, 2020 Hi all, figured I’d try braiding a Turks Head knot onto a rock just for fun and to try something new. Kangaroo lace in natural and burgundy, and the knot is a two-pass seven part six bight Turks ahead knot, using the instructions from a Ron Edwards leatherwork book. now I need to figure out what to do with the rock

Of course Chia Pets aren't far behind.

You are really 'rocking it'! Is that a chunk of marble, or am I taking it for granite? Sorry, couldn't resist. It is actually quite cool. Not sure of any practical use, but it is an attractive paperweight.
Sturme Report post Posted April 20, 2020 a very earthy paper weight
Sturme Report post Posted April 20, 2020 on a side note, you can hang it on a leather braid and call it a Indian weather rock if rock is wet, its raining if rock is white its snowing, if rock is swinging, its windy if rock is gone, tornado

Polyester can be slippery

Pretty sure it’s granite (I’m a sucker for granite). Good little paperweight. I also sew, and the tissue patterns fly everywhere in a draft if you’re not careful or have a chunk of granite handy On 4/20/2020 at 12:41 PM, Sturme said: a very earthy paper weight Thanks! I like the contrast in texture between the lace and stone.
