they aren't soft lol 10 oz  leather mildly formed is all, these aren't gun fighting holsters they are for using out in the wilds of Wyoming. Folks like them because they are fat folk friendly and ride well in atvs, trucks and such. Dyed canyon tan with a nice coat of Feibings golden mink oil.

Great looking holsters.  10 ounce leather,  these are going to last a lifetime and will endure years of heavy use.

I hope they do last as long as the firearms thy are pretty rugged, i made the first ones for myself lol.

Very nicely done. Did you design your own pattern for these? I have been wanting to do something similar for a 1911 but havent yet. The pancake style is prob. the ones that I am least confident about.

yes i did and thank you , it isnt a true pancake but similar it is flat on the backside and only formed on the front to the firearm. They ride nice and flat against the hip like a pancake. That's my 1911 in the picture and why i made the first one lol.

thanks  Yea  i made the first one for myself lol not fat just fluffy lol.

The dye gave me fits on the first one, i dyed it then when i wet molded it got all mottled. Then i used feibing golden mink oil on it and that helped clear it up some. Then the other two i wet molded then airbrushed the dye and they came out much better.

I always dye after wet mold and whatever I'm making is very dry  and only air brush now some exceptions to this but not many I have found time is the most important part of everything coming out right letting things dry well before the next step .

especially true with the water based dyes. Always something new to learn .
