I know there are laws against it, but I have seen alot of stuff out there that I know is copy righted....and /or a trademark. I'm sure I could spend days reading stuff on the internet and get totally confused, I was more interrested in what was "acccepted" with the "leather Pros".

Hi everybody, After having shown my arm guard in the show off section I have been requested the pattern by some of you. I did much more than a simple pattern scan, and from this link: you can download a complete *pdf document with everything needed but the cup of coffee. Enjoy! And thanks in anticipation for feedback and for the photos of the arm guards you will make. Fred EDIT: Dead Link Removed, file uploaded here:

I have purchased tools here over the years, Cowboy Bob was the first one I found. Then I found the Leather Tool Maker, then Rocky Aussie and his thin needle plate. There is also Patrick1 that I’m still trying to get off the pot so I can purchase from him. I have been on here for about 12 years and it took a long time to find guys that make Shhtuff! Now here is where y’all come in! I’m looking to make a list outside of supplies. I’m looking for guys like Rocky Aussie or the Leather Tool Maker that have the skill, know how, and the machines to make those thin needle plates or the burnishers that we all could use. If you know a tool maker or builder list em here, I d…

I got a call today for a paddle holster. I'm familiar with these, the paddle rides inside the pants instead of using a loop or clip. Is there anyone here that has any experience making a leather paddle? Do I just stitch leather onto a kydex or plastic paddle? Or do I use just leather, maybe skirting, and hardening it? I'll do some research on my own, but this is my first stop. I'd rather hear from someone that's done it than just looking at pictures and trying to guess Thanks

Good morning All, I am new to the Forum, and this is my first post. I have been watching the forum for a good while and finally decided to join. I've been working with leather for about 11-12 years, on and off. Over the last several years I've grown more serious about it. I enjoy the Swiss Army style leather works by the various saddlers, and various European styles as I believe they are some of the most tried and true methods to joining pieces of leather together. I too have also started a small collection of original Swiss pouches, etc for continued inspiration. I use fairly traditional tools when it comes to building leather pieces, and I'm always t…

Can someone explain to me why a back (double bend) would cost more than a side of the same tannery and grade? A quick search on Google states the back cut is a more consistent piece with less waste like the belt section of a side. Then proceeds to magically repeat that statement in a couple different ways. The bend is cut out of a side, so why would a side be less expensive or lower quality if they're graded the same?

Hello all! Anyone know if this Rossley machine is leather related? Or is it for metal. I know they made a punch/stamp press as well, but not sure what this one is. Local seller had it listed with the other leather press, but I do t need a metal bender or break or whatever……Rory

I have accumulated several dilryn stamps which are of good size. But I always just use a press and knock em out. Has anyone ever wet mold with dilryn?

I’ve purchased a Weaver Master Tool creaser machine from another leather worker that bought it new around 2008 or so. I’m curious if anyone has one that I can see mounted on a table and can give me some insight to it. Maybe I’m calling it by the wrong name, but it’s very similar to the Randall 1887 creaser he replaced this one with when he bought out an old harness maker’s shop. I can’t find ANYTHING about it online. Just videos of weavers new single wheel machines. Nobody at Weaver that I’ve spoken with knows about it either
