  2. Hah did you send this to Florida? I just received a 18U222 from Poland and think this machine or its cousin might be mine now Is a neat old machine. I have seen several Japanese bespoke shoemakers prefer them as they allow you to sew right along a top edge with the work supported, and I figured I would see if I could put this one back into service for the same I was going to ask if anyone knew if parts from the more common right-hand cylinder arm light leather machines like class 17 might be interchangeable eg needle plate, accessory work table. ISMACS suggests they are mirror copies.
  3. @Sheilajeanne should also include " and a packet of bandaids , sorry for the blood stains " HS
  4. @chuck123wapati i've seen vids of semis getting blown over, looks terrifying, so I can imagine the strength of those winds. Had my last market for the year on Sunday, 21st, so now I am a man of leisure, sort of. Our AC is working perfect 👌 local installer too, did a fine job. I spilt a whole tin of contact adhesive all over my bench and onto my leg once. What a sticky gluggy mess it was too, along with a multitude of expletives Lesson learnt. HS
  5. @beefy i have 4 machines, but i'd love 3 more machines to add to my collection. A long arm flat bed for canvas, horse rugs etc., a post bed, and a 132k6, but I have no space left HS

  9. l didn't notice that. Probably telepathic.
  10. Have only see one or two in pictures before. Not very common.
  11. How does she make the machine feed in reverse? She's got a knee lift for the presser foot, but both hands in the shot when she reverses.
  12. Thanks
  13. At 5:30 of this video, the lady is sewing those welted fingers with which you're struggling. I hate posting a yt video that might disappear, but it is what it is.
  14. @bruce johnson will know or might know.
  15. C.S osburne, Weaver leather premium line. There is others but can't think of them right now.

  17. Hello All. I’m asking for help. I need new polish and sanding wheels for 450 shoe line finisher. I’m new to this machine, and I need some help finding supplies to do shoe repair and also that carries these wheels. Thanks and y'all have a very Merry Christmas or beautiful holiday with your families. Johnny
  18. Did you account for seam allowance? For a non-eased seam, the the pieces will have the same length along the stitch line. (Not necessarily the same length along the outside edge of the leather)
  19. Who makes a good bag punch set? I have some very bad Chinese ones.
  20. Interesting project. I see the difference in the 2 lengths, 219 vs 215.72. I wonder if that difference could be in how the old gloves stretched over the years. I've had similar problems trying to use an old hat I took apart as a template. Pieces just don't seem to like up as if expect.
  21. So I am attempting to make a new glove and have been using several older gloves as templates/patterns. I dont have any leather cut at the moment but here is what the piece look like in 2D and then my first attempt at sewing them together. Learning to keep the pieces together and against the guide. No way to glue them so it gets interesting. These two pieces are pretty close in "seam length" but there are others have more difference in length.
  22. you only need one but size my make vfds a cheaper option
  23. From the lace at the top to the binding on the bottom, the first finger measures 5 3/4" long, all the way across. I can't see inside to see the details. It sounds like you're making a new glove?
  24. You should be able to play with your settings to minimize the charring. I keep a box of what would be throwaways for trial and error work. lol
  25. It would be handy if there were a cross reference for beehive tension springs. You know, free length, diameter at base, diameter at top, and force when fully compressed. You can of course bend your own from music wire.
