The Atom Se25 that I have in my shop here is starting to feel a little weak.....But not a good time to send it off for a rebuild. (I can't afford the down time). It's been leaking around the top seal a little and seems to have less power to cut than it used to.... A guy not excessively far away has a Sandt Hydraulik" 20 Ton clicker for sale. Looks pretty sharp. Trouble is, I've never used a Sandt clicker. I'm guessing they might be German made? I'm curious if they're still made or old machinery that's rebuilt over and over? How do they compare to Atoms? I've only owned Atoms (Se25 and 999). Ok, briefly owned a Reece at the dawn of ages..... Wha…

Just looking for any feedback on the machine. I know it is small with a 5" cutting area. Any input would be great. Thanks.

Have been messing with leather for a few years. Mostly knife sheaths, muzzleloader bags / accessories, phone cases, & wallets. Lately I have had a lot of requests from friends for wallets. The time involved cutting them by hand is kind of taking the fun out of things. It's very tedious to say the least. Just wondering if anyone out there has tried any of the cheap dies and what their experience was? I understand that you get what you pay for. I'm not running a business, just looking for a low cost option to save some time. Thanks in advance, this is my first post on the forum. I have tried searching here and on other sites.

I am looking at various options, one of which is a motorised 20" fixed blade splitter (the Landis 8020, bench mounted with a servo motor) Is anyome using one of these and if so how happy are you with the results? Thanks Harry

I’ve been learning to make replica Nikes/Jordans using the lasting board and tack method but have become more interested in speeding up the process and notice that most shoes these days are manufactured using the Strobel method. I can’t seem to find a lot of information on them or heck where to even buy them beyond Alliexpress. many thanks!

Hello all, Forgive me if this has been covered. I am sure it has been at some point. I am having some brass stamps made so I can do some hot stamping. I currently stamp my makers mark and some requested stamping patterns with a shop press. I am wanting to use an arbor press for accuracy in layout. I plan on buying something inexpensive and having a machine shop bore out the arbor for an insert. My question is does anyone known the thread size and pitch of the most commonly available dies for setting snaps/rivets etc. The insert I have made will be threaded as appropriate and I also want to advise my brass stamp maker on what size rod to make fit the brass sta…

Hello hive mind. Can you help me please? I think I'm gonna get one for veg tan anyway but I'm beginning to amass lot's of 3inch squares for patchwork but they're various collections of thicknesses, now do I make piles of each thickness or attempt to split all to a uniform size. Forgive me if this seem strange but I seem to have a sort of brain fart because it took five attempts to write the previous sentence. As much as I'd like a nice hand crank splitter it ain't happening. I'm thinking one of the cheap ones with replaceable blades rather one with the solid knife that has to be sharpened. I'm thinking roughly £70 to £150. Thoughts please.

I recently picked up a LS 1020 leather splitter 20” hand crank and servo motor setup. It hadn’t been used in a few years so I cleaned it up. Removed the blade to check it’s condition it seemed in good condition honed the blade and reassembled blade. I’m having trouble getting it to split in a uniform weight. Have only tried small strap pieces 4 to 6” long. I have no manuals and I can’t seem to find any detailed setup or operation manuals on line. Looking for all the help I can get. Thanks in advance.
