Made templates this morning for belt ends and another checkbook cover pattern. My first attempt was to draw it directly on the back of poster board, then cut out. That project design proved unworkable, so never used it. These I first drew in LibreCAD, then printed. But how to make templates? First idea, one I intended to use for a knife sheath pattern, was to trace it on the poster board using carbon paper. Then decided to cut around the pattern, glue it to the back of the poster board with a rub-on glue stick, then cut out. This worked well. I went with oval belt holes, and the first two are passable, but the rest look good. I used a hole punch (3mm) for the ro…

Hey everyone. I’ve been watching you tube videos of wallet making on these rainy rainy days. Often times I see card stock patterns being used, that appear to have some type of sticky backing. It doesn’t appear to mark or leave a residue on the leather. And usually I have noticed it in the videos from Korea, or Japan. does anyone here know what they may be using. It looks like a good way to hold your pattern to the leather without weights or using your hand. thanks Joel

So I had some watch strap templates laser cut. But something is wrong with the transition between lines and arcs. And it doesn't matter how I do it. Two circles and join and trim, a line and an arc, a polyline that transition into an arc (without snapping) there is a little step at the transition between lines and arcs. And this is visible in preview also, and if I print on paper (Except with like 0.05 in lineweight, because of resolution) Most templates came out really good anyway, this was the worst part, it do look worse than it is because the protective film is a little melted, it's like a 0.2mm step. The geometry for the lines add up perfect if you look at X/Y o…

I had to modify the file a little bit so it will print in both A4 and letter size. But I can't try printing in letter size. So please someone update me if it doesn't work in letter size My instructions wasn't that good. But skive this part and fold over to the first line. For leather around 1-1.2mm thickness it will compensate for the fold so the length will be correct. straps_A4_letter.pdf

Someone on reddit asked for a template of a TomFord design card case, and I made one. I thought I share it here also. Use 1-1.2mm leather. If you use veg tan and you can choose weights. You can make the front and back panel in 1-1.2mm and card pockets in 0.8-0.9mm tomford1.pdf - Overview with dimensions tomford2.pdf - template to print Both of them are A4 (Will you US guys be able to print this in letter size? if not ask me and I will solve a letter size version.) tomford1.pdf tomford2.pdf
