  1. It sounds like a Kwikprint foil leaf embosser.
  2. I just got a Douglas awl and haft at Wickenburg show and it is better than i thought could be possible. Not scared of sewing that cantle at all (awl?) now!
  3. Rain today but I pay it no mind. I have got projects on my mind.

  4. Oh I wish I had known you were visiting as always as we say here in the west "Mi casa su casa" or "Mein Haus ist dein Haus"! I hope you liked Arizona and return again soon.

  5. it is only the monday after Wickenburg and I am already wondering when will my Cobra get delivered!? The wait will be agonizing!

  6. I think I got that stamp at a wickenburg show. It has been so long with me I can't remember where I got it. I left the swell/fork cover long and covered the bars with it because this is a reproduction of a half seat from the 1890 - 1910 period. I was going to do a leather seat but I may use the strainer for strength since it is a half seat.

  8. If you're going to be just punching holes and setting rivets and stuff look for something with the weight to make the task easy. I have a two pound/ one kilo maul that I use for the big jobs and then several smaller mallets for stamping. You might want to consider a poly or rawhide mallet and even the sculpture artists maul might work if it is heavy enough to do what you want to do. I was thinking to myself that there isn't a wrong choice except for a metal hammer. That would cause damage to your tools. So try whatever you have available and good luck.
  9. Frohe Weihnachten! Just stopping by to say hello.

  10. Here is what to look for from a normal tool/ hardware store. Maybe try Right Tools on Orchard road? A rawhide or Poly mallet is the best bet for starting off with something you should be able to find at a local tool store. Good luck!
  11. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too!

    leather bottle

I want to make a bottle too but I don't know what to use to seal it. I hear so many different answers of things that are best to seal the bottle but I don't know what is true.
  15. Got my saddle tree and started on the saddle. *sigh* So much work ahead but it is exciting!

I hope you had a good summer.

  16. I have that pattern somewhere too. I also used the pattern that the very honorable Tom Banwell provide for the top hat he made. This is a link to the Forum Topic he posted showing his top hat. He gives the pattern a little ways down the page. I used this pattern for my own hat.
  17. I googled cabbage choppers to check my memory and the ones my aunts and grandmas had the same kind of handle as seen in the picture.
  18. Best year ever so far.

There are somethings that will never stay the same and others that will never change. I am more a rolling stone with a flat side. I'll roll but only with a lot of force.

Wickenburg was great saw some wonderful things and spent a lot of money! Looking forward to the delivery of a new Cobra machine and some special tools. It was wonderful to see and meet some of the people from here too! I am in love with my new Douglas awl haft and needle. It was a "Rockstar Moment" to meet Bob and Lee. I wish I had bought more!

  19. Hey Skip! I made that stamp on a mill with a .250" ball end mill. I am trying to make all the stamps that end up on my saddle. I want it to be uniquely mine with no other saddle out there like it.
