  1. Thanks for posting your fine work. I really like the holster and how you dyed it!
  2. Well done! I really like your work!
  3. Beautiful sheaths! If possible, could you take a picture showing the sheath being worn? Thanks
  4. I finally made something for myself. I've been looking to carve Tiger or Wolf eyes on the back of a belt, so I'm experimenting on this checkbook cover. I generally like just leather dyes, but dye didn't bring the eyes out, so I painted them with acrylics. Thanks for looking! John
  5. Gawdzilla, Send me your email address through my profile. I have about a dozen images of wolves. I'm working on a project where I plan on carving either wolf eyes or tiger eyes. When I get to the point where I create a template for this project, I'll send it to you as well. John
  6. Allan, Great tutorial! Thanks! I'll try this one once I order a couple new stamps. John
  7. Thanks, I wanted to see your piece on a horse. Beautiful! You could put that on a goat and it would still look great!!!
  8. I'd love to see a picture of this on the horse! Spectacular!
  9. I don't know if this helps, but I've used this type of paperclip to hold pieces of leather together to sew that I didn't want to glue. If you line the clip along the stitch groove, and the leather is completely dry, it doesn't leave any noticeable marks in the leather.
  10. I am also interested in your home-made resolene. I tried and liked Clear-Lac, but it cause me a severe Dermatologic Reaction. The doctor said it was Contact Dermatitis. I even tried to apply it on belts while in my garage with both doors open, but it still affected me. I'm looking for the best product or combination that prevents dye from bleeding onto your clothes. Thanks, John
  11. Thanks, I've never seen this style and really appreciate you sharing!! John
  12. I am looking for advice on the best book to buy about making a rifle case/scabbard. I appreciate your help. John
  13. Don't know if they make them or not, but I'm going to use the pictures you've provided to convert one of the swivel knife that came with some tools I bought on ebay. Thanks for the post! John
  14. http://www.dragoart.com/ I stumble across this site the other day and I thought I'd share. Lots of carving ideas John
  15. I just bought a 2 piece Cocobolo Rosewood burnisher from ebay. One for my drill press and one for a dremel. I got them for just over $20 plus shipping. The one for the drill press works great! I need to make a couple belts this weekend and I'll try the dremel one.
  16. Ferg, I did as you suggested and did a google search. I never heard of a Tom Threeperson Holster and wanted to know what the heck it was. This link has a cool history of good old Tom. http://www.atf.gov/p...reepersons.html I love history such as this! John
  17. Thanks, and Happy New Year to you and to all! John
  18. Spinner, thanks for the quick response. What is Peter's profile name so that I can email him through this forum? Thanks,
  19. I would like to buy one of Peter main's modeling spoons that i had seen posted in some of the tutorial. How do I contact peter to buy one? Thanks, John
  20. Particle, Could you let us know the color and manufacturer of dyes and antiques you used on these holster. I haven't been working with leather for very long and finally I am making something for myself, a portfolio kit from Tandy. I like what I have carved, my company logo on one side and an Archangel on the other. I have really stuggled on what color to dye this project. In fact I carved the leather 4-5 months ago. Thanks, John
