  1. Not sure if this is what you arenlooking for, also not sure where they are based... http://www.dreamtimecreations.com/category/633/rivets/acrylic-rhinestone-rivets/acrylic-rhinestone-rivets/
  2. Sorry, I cannot help you with setting them but I would loooove to know where you bought them. I have been looking fir these for ages, but without any luck.
  3. Try Sprenger - reknowned for their quality in the dog world.
  4. love the brass snaps. may I ask where you got them fro?
  5. I haven't used their stamps, but Birdsall do custom/maker stamps. http://birdsall-leather.com.au/product.php?productid=2205&cat=19&page=1 From memory, and I could be wrong, when I was doing some research, I think Grey Ghost Graphics, even with postage to Australia was about the same in price, or even cheaper. Just had a look - their makers stamps are $US60 and additional shipping is $US10 - fairly sure he added the additional shipping when I enquired if he shipped to Australia. http://store.greyghostgraphics.com/makerstamp.aspx I thought Leffler (www.leffler.com.au) also did makers stamps, but I cannot find anything on their website?
  6. Try Standard Rivet Company... different prong style, and you might have to call them to work out which code equals "pink", but might be worth a try. Though, I've never used them, they did respond promptly to my email enquiries. I haven't used them yet, as shipping is a killer when you're in a different country. http://www.standardrivet.com/stones-gems/acrylic-faceted-jewels/69-mounted-acrylic-faceted-stones.php Out of curiousity, where did you get the ones in the photo? I'm looking for those back and having trouble finding them.
  7. Thank you! You've gotta love this forum. Post a question, and less than two hours later, you get an answer WITH video.
  8. Okay, dumb newbie question ahead =) I'm used to using a strap cutter to cut strips of leather. I've been told that plough gauges are able to cut greater thicknesses of leather, so I'd be interested in learning how to use one... but I've got no idea how they work! And, how on earth do you sharpen the blades? I've seen photos of ones that have been pulled apart and the blades look a weird shape.
  9. Thanks. Do you happen to know if they sell to individuals, or if they are trade/wholesale only?
  10. A while ago when I was browsing the internet, I saw an edge dye that came in a powdered form, that you dissolve in water to make up an edge dye. I know the one I saw at the time was a black powder. Of course, I thought I bookmarked it, but of course, now I cannot find it... typical, eh?! So, if anyone can help me find this elusive dye, I would be most grateful.
  11. Thanks - I'd never seen one before.... but that shouldn't surprise anyone, given how new I am =)
  12. I was having a look at leatherwork tools on EBAY and came across this. I'm just wondering if anyone might be able to tell me what it is, and what it is used for? Thanks. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ANTIQUE-UNUSUAL-SADDLERS-ADJUSTABLE-CUTTING-TOOL-like-a-SMALL-PLOUGH-VGC-/321036678753?pt=UK_Collectable_ToolsHasdware_RL&hash=item4abf46f661
  13. Have a look at page 3 of this Sprenger catalogue. http://www.sprenger.de/send_file.php/material/7-FITTINGS_Hundesport_2012-GB-web-7.pdf
  14. And old topic, but just bumping this, as I would also be interested in finding out about their pricking irons. I've tried looking at their French website, but it is giving me a headache
  15. Thank you - I'm very much a newbie. Still learning, but enjoying the learning process.
  16. Ummm, okay... now, for the real dummies (me!), could you explain what a "collett" is, please? Thanks
  17. Okay, this is probably going to be the dumb question for the day... how does the blade go into the handle? And, (hopefully not so dumb!).... are these on your website, do you ship to Australia, and if you do, what is the postage? But, looks like I probably won't be getting a Douglas awl blade anytime soon.... postage of single awl blade from Sheridan to Australia is more than $30!!!!!!!!!! Which effectively doubles the price of the blade!!!
  18. Looks interesting. The only disappointing thing is that it is limited to materials 12 inches in length, which means that you couldn't use it for belts.
  19. Newbie question and suggestion here... not that I've ever made these. In what way are they "not sitting nicely". My only thought is that you might need to skive/thin the edges where the edges join... I'm assuming that they're made of 2 pieces of leather that are joined?
  20. Thank you - look forward to "playing". Do you seal the paint afterward? If so, what do you use?
  21. I'm curious as to what would be used to achieve the iridescent effect used on the stamps on these collars. I'm guessing you'd have to seal the leather after dyeing? Any ideas much appreciated? http://www.celtichound.co.uk/leather-buckle-collar-iridescent-dragonfly-2-inch.php
  22. I see that you're from Australia... any idea where I can buy a decent pricking iron in Australia? All the new ones that I've seen are waaay too thick. Thanks
  23. Or perhaps you could talk her into having a brass name plate riveted on, which can then be engraved.... http://www.leffleronline.com.au/webstore/images/larger/HEACOLPLA112.jpg
