dwight great answer and i appreciate it and while i do smoke and have a few drinks during the week MOST of my money goes back into helping my mom and dad ( im only 22 and still live at home) neither of which can work due to either heart problems or disabilities but hey....the boss is a great goal to work towards! i dont mind handstitching at all at the moment im just trying to get some ideas for the future it might sound KINDA funny but theres nothing as therapeutic as handstiching a fresh holster! thanks for all the input guys!

thanks for the replies and believe me if i could afford a machine i'd so go that route but working part time retail doesnt make that completely possible lol
-
okay guys what do YOU do to make your stitch holes. i unfortunately dont have the luxury of machine so everything is done by hand. right now im using a mini drill press which is okay but im just trying to gauge what other people use, thonging chisels? just a regular awl? what? any input is appreciated guys

very niceeee! and hey if ya dont want that revolver and the holster i'll take em off your hands for ya lol seriously, great job i like em -
idk about belts made for concealed carry, but the few regular belts i've made i just cut straight. personally i feel like its a bit of a design preference and a way for the larger companies to charge a few extra bucks on something that will happen naturally with wear and use, thats just my opinion though

5 or 6 pounds....i dont have that patience lol let me know how the next batch comes out!
-
even though it didnt come out like you envisioned it i still think its a GREAT looking holster how exactly did you make a dye by using the walnut shells by the way? thats something that sounds interesting lol
-
lol dwight i have the same trouble with that and i hate it

My First Single Action Holster

looks super good im working ona similar pattern for my dads ruger.! -
thansk hive. those are ALOT like the belt pouches i make for larps. the main thing i see thats different ( and i cant believe i havent thought of it before) that i love is that your flap actually is alot shorter which looks very very good. mine actually shuts in the same place but the actual flap comes down alot further
-
thanks for the input guys, both of those seem like they would be fairly easy to make. the second one especially reminds me of a larp belt pouch in construction the main difference being the hook for the closure is down on the bottom and the actual pouch part of the sporran looks like its deeper and a little more narrow hmmmmm now i have something to think about whilst at work today!
-
hi all! first i wanna say GREAT work from all of you! very inspring! im looking to make my first sporran and im really not sure where to begin. i've made alot of belt pouches for LARPing and i was wondering if you guys could maybe point me in the right direction as to where to start? its going to be a showpiece ( i hope) but more experimentation than anything any help would be appreciated guys!

dudeeeeee i'd take sheath making tips from you ANY day of the week! great job! -
well. while im still new to the holster making aspect of leatherworking, i've been doing leatherworking in general for awhile and i do ALOT of "medievil style" leatherworking, armor, pouches, things like that plus general things. y'know wallets sheaths money clips, and i love handsweing even with my first holster i hand sewed it and while i'd LOVE to be able to afford a machine i like being able to hold the piece in my hands and make it complete, not to mention i ALSO enjoy an " adult beverage" and a good movie on the tv while im doing it :D whatever you choose, PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!!!
