  1. One thing you can do is put a bunch of them in a mesh bag and stick it under your car seat. It is the only thing that REALLY restores new car smell that I know of.
  2. http://elfitakorea.blogspot.ae/2013/08/hand-press.html this might help cut down on the noise
  3. I got my semi annual bonus today and I drove straight to Professional Plastics in Ogden and bought a sheet of 8 foot by 4 foot 1/2 inch HDPE (cutting board material) Only this is smooth and not textured like a cutting board. I took it home and put it on my cutting table and tried it out. My head knife went through the leather and glided across that HDPE like it was lubricated, I've never cut so easily and didn't realize what a hassle it was to constantly check and make sure that the cutting mat I bought at Hobby Lobby was still under the leather. Envy me one and all!
  4. My son in law requested a guitar strap with the Batman symbol. Just finished the shoulder piece.
  5. I've been making some card wallets and I've noticed that, as I hand stitch these thinner chrome tanned leathers, they tend to bunch up and warp a bit. How does one avoid or correct that issue? (or am I the only one experiencing this?) Thanks in advance for any suggestions Tom
  6. I have a bonus coming up in about a month. If you still want to sell it then, let me know I come from Katy, little town 20 miles west of Houston
  7. 6th generation native Texan here. Still have you Boss for sale?
  8. Cleaning my bench and sharpening and organizing my tools after months of neglect I honestly don't know where to start I honestly don't know where to start
  9. I intend to try it as well...a great tutorial and one that I will take into account when posting future patterns of my own
  10. There wasn't really any time. I finished it about 10 minutes before the party. I think I took one with my phone. I'll try to scare it up
  11. A friend of mine who has 3 girls and no boys asked me for this. He claims that he's tired of carrying a diaper bag with flowers and pastels on it and wants something to assert his testosterone-laden self in the estrogen rich atmosphere that is his household. He mentioned that those old Bucheimer USPS leather bags that postal workers used to carry would be just the ticket. According to him, something large enough and sturdy enough to pack the baby in as well if he were so inclined. I showed him the baby holster picture and he thought it was great but both his wife and mine launched into a screaming fit that lasted for....(let's see, today is Tuesday....) Anyway, I got some pictures of the thing off the web. It's HUGE! 16"x12"x7" So I'm working on a pattern now. SHould have it up in a day or so. Stay tuned
  12. That's exactly how I imagined it would look
  13. It seems that, by stitching a leather strip onto the gusset like that, it would make it easier to attach the gusset to the bag while, at the same time, making a cleaner seam.
  14. Hey Monica, I really like the way you did the gusset on that bag in your picture but I have to say, I think it would be too time consuming...particularly with someone that has hands as large and arthritic as mine. I've seen an alternative stile and I woner if you've ever considered it ALTERNATIVE GUSSET ATTACHMENT.pdf
  15. I can see now why the issues you mention exist. I'm gonna try to rethink this and post a possible alternative
  16. Looks great! Always rewarding when you guys post the stuff I drew
